Okay, I thought it was kinda cute at first, but now it's totally on the annoying side.

When I sneeze(Not even around her really and most of the time covered if I was fast enough), she'll make me spray the room with Oust, lysol..etc..And she'll even put her hand over her mouth and pretend it's like a big toxic waste spill in the room or something until the Oust or lysol is sprayed.

So, what do you guys think? lol

Thanks,

Dominick

It depends on several reasons why she does that, maybe you should directly ask her to get the right reason.

Sneezing is a reflex act, completely beyond our control but we can do our best to sneeze within a tissue. Your friend could be asthmatic or something and has to make every effort to avoid the flu, some people have to take flu injections.

Researchers have found that most respiratory viruses are transmitted by droplets in the sneezes and coughs. They also recommend washing hands after sneezing too.

If she is asking you to washed your hands also she then she is worried about viruses, if she isn't then it could be some other reason. If she works in the medical field, that could be it too. However, most people will not ask a person to spray the room after someone sneezes. That is unusual in that way.

Or, it could be that she just doesn't like the way you sneeze and feels uncomfortable with it?? For example, some people sneeze real loud and some hold it and make a subdued sneeze.

We can make many assumptions but the only way to find out is to ask her.

She could very well have OCD or some kind of anxiety disorder that is focused around germs. However, that is really hard to deal with. It would seem like you need to talk to her about it and find out why it bothers her so much. And ask her how she would feel if she sneezed and you wanted to spray the air with Lysol. I bet she wouldn't like it.

As long as you cover your mouth and wash your hands immediately afterwards, then there won't be a significant amount of germs dispersed in the air. Maybe you can explain that to her so that she'll understand. Or if you really want to negotiate with her, you could ask her what way you should sneeze so that she'll feel more comfortable.

On the other hand, like I said, it seems really insulting to act this way to someone with whom you are close. I'd probably have a hard time staying with her.

I thought our Jack Russell Terrier was bad. When anyone sneezes he attacks, but he is getting over it. Not all sneezes are contagious!

actually when u sneeze small particals of foreign objects are ejected from your system thats how our body works sometimes it contains bacterias too.So obviously she is concerned but she should wear a mask as the air itself is full of bacteria
