Last night in bed, i rolled over onto my left side and got sudden sharp pain down my left arm which didn't go away when I moved off of it. Then I felt the same kind of pain in the location of my heart, and a little nausea. I checked my pulse, which I couldn't find immediately (which is unusual for me) and it was a little irregular, sometimes it had a slightly longer gap in time, and then it would get fainter and come back again. After about 1/2 hour it went away.
My health has always been good, I am 27 yo female 5'5 and 120#, i eat well (very little fast food, saturated fats and lots of vegetables).
Can anyone tell me what might have happened.

You're fine, whether you think so or not. Rolling over in your sleep sometimes accidentally "hits" a nerve on any part of your body, much like getting a stiff neck from sleeping, only in the rolling part the pain is abrupt while in stiff neck, the pain developed for hours. Occasional acid reflux also happens anytime during the day, especially at night, which could be mistaken for "heart" pains, or heart burns...accompanying this is nausea, which may or may not be felt all the time depending on the person and how they live their life.

The "not finding your pulse" situation is yet something as well that can be misread, since even doctors who routinely do this also have a hard time finding a pulse on a patient; your mind must have been focusing on something else while you were looking for your pulse, which could cause the misread. Also, the pulse can be "tricky", but it is all dependent on your physiological response to a certain situation, i.e. your blood pressure may have increased a little after worrying about what you were feeling, which releases adrenaline causing increase heart rate and "pulse spikes", which would then go back to normal over time.

You are a healthy individual and what happened is just one of those things that are bodies cannot control since we are physiologically maintaining our internal environment from metabolic fluctuations; it's not perfect, but the way your live your life is as healthy as it gets, and that's all you need.

Hope this helps! Don't stress to much on it, or overstressing can really lead to diseases...the chronic situation of your symptoms could translate to a cardiovascular disease; but at this point of your life, you should treasure your health and maintain it.

:)

You should have got a doctors appointment during the day sooner and cancelled what ever you was doing, secondly sounds very much like a severe chest infection, i would of said bronchitis but that doesn't usually come with a runny nose so im not too sure, however honey is apparently meant to be really good for that kind of problem, stay at home in bed, get plenty of fluids and rest and get the school to email you any work etc. hope you feel better real soon :D x

You probably had a heart attack. You should definately check with a doctor ASAP.

I've worked as an EMT on an ambulance for a few years and learned that we all end up having heart attacks throughout our lives. Most of them are small and unnoticable, but some are larger and can cause irreversable damage.

The sooner after the attack you are able to get tested, the better chance that a doctor can confirm or deny that you had one (if you had a heart attack, then some heart muscle has died and there will be residual proteins floating around in your blood that they can test -- if none of these proteins exist then it may have been a muscle cramp in your chest (rib muscles, etc.)

Wow...I can't believe you're asking this without seeing a doctor. It could simply be a strained muscle in that area, but it sounds pretty serious to me. Heart disease is a leading cause of death in women and the symptoms often go unrecognized in women. I know you don't want to hear this, but go to the Dr. I work in a hospital and I've seen people in very good physical shape who have come in with a heart attack. Don't let your good habits trick you into not taking care of this. Best wishes to you!

Looks like the big one coming on. Irregular heartbeat called arrythmia is what you had. It is possible to have a regular EKG and thenhave a 90% blockage of the artery in the heart.

Check this site out.

Sharp pain is probably just acid reflux. Heart attack is a dull squeezing pain like your chest is a being crushed by a snake. Your heart does not feel pain, which is why your arm or whatever usually hurts too during a heart attack. Pain in your "heart" is usually from your stomach.

If you get pain in your arm and around your heart...its a heart attack waiting to happen. These are SYMPTOMS! Go now to the doctor. If I am right I bet you have no more than 72 hours before a heart attack/death will occur.
