So, does the Lord want to be praised always? If we don't priase him, we go to hell? The Lord sounds like a selfish bast--- (you know the rest) rather, does that mean 41/42 of the entire world's population go to hell no matter what good they do?

It's more of what haven't I done? To deserve going to hell, just cuz I don't sing praises to someone I've never known.

You didn't mention what religion you belong to and your belief...Read..READ: 1 John 3:19-20

This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us ... (1 John 3.19-20).

On the phrase "whenever our hearts condemn us," the apostle John is recognizing that the problem we face is that of a condemning heart. He suggests here in this phrase that this is a rather frequent and often involuntary experience on our part. Who of us as a Christian has not had trouble with a bad conscience or a condemning heart? There are physical problems that affect us spiritually, but all too often this is the result of an attack of the evil one upon our faith, an attempt to try to dislodge us from faith in Jesus Christ, to annul our effectiveness as Christians. And all too often this attack succeeds.

I dont understand how so many people who have never read the Bible will speak against it saying "well it was just written by men".

Then any quack can come up with some self help spirituality book and everyone is for it. Is he not a man?

what do people want? for God to send down a book floating in the air and glowing so we can say "ok THIS was written by God" ? What proof do you want.

If we can acccept that other people write things that are inspired by something supernatural, why not the Bible?

If you are dead set againts believing in something, then you wont. No matter how much proof is given to you, you will CHOOSE not to.

And thats the key. God doesnt send people to hell for not praising Him. Its much deeper than that.

People speak about opening up their minds and tolerating all religions but they just cannot tolerate Christianity or the name of Jesus right?

If you really want to know the truth, open your mind to something you never thought you could believe in and test it to see if it is true.

I worship a forgiving God. And yes a large number of the world population will not go to heaven. Wide is the road to hell, and narrow is the road to heaven. You have known Jesus at some time in your life. The word bastard simply means a child without a father, you have used it to describe yourself rather than the Lord of all creation. Go to The Intercessors blog and maybe they can help you with your questions.

Be not afraid.
1. Does the Lord want to be praised--Yes and that is not asking too much by a creator who owns you, gives you every breadth and blesses you
2 If we dont praise Him we go to hell--No. Not necessarily. Only if you choose to be His enemy and is so doing you choose hell. He does not send you there. You choose
3. He sounds like a bastard?--No. A bastard is one who does not have a father--or one who denies his own father and the path through which he came to this earth--the worst kind of ignoramus
4. 41/42--You will be surprised. The plan of God is that all of his creation will make heaven. By the time he is through working His plan out, only those who outrightly deny Him will have chosen hell
5. What good have you done that is not coloured by your selfishness and self-interest. Even your claim to love is in the expectation that you will be loved. There is God who may not be love--yet loves. He is not condemning you, but He hopes that your eyes and mind be open to see beyond your nose and selfishness

You have a very limited view....and a very limited knowledge of what Christianity is all about...and I'd be careful if I were you about Who you are cursing...or almost......

You say you really want to know...and God says if you search for Him with all your heart, he will show you Who He is...He is wanting you to know Him in a personal way.

So I'll try to tell you a little...but you have to make the effort to find Him.....First...why would you want to praise God when you don't know Him? It is not "praise God or go to hell"...it is " you are already going to hell" unless you choose to do otherwise. God always allows you to the choice.

God had a plan. He wanted his creation to love Him. In order to really love someone, you have to freely choose it..not be a puppet, forced into it. So first God made Adam and Eve, and they chose to disobey Him...they brought sin into the world, and were to be totally separated from God because of their sin.
Everyone born after them inherited their sinful nature as well.

But God had a plan how to "redeem" them ...in order to do that, someone without sin had to die in their place...which was the penalty for sin....so He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be born and to die for us...in our place. And Jesus, His Son, rose again on the third day, and sits now in heaven being our "advocate" for us.

Then God says very clearly that " whosoever believes on His Son, has eternal life"...but he who believes not, is condemned already"....it is a choice....to pay attention to why He sent Jesus.....and God is not willing that any should perish (that is eternally perish), but He always allows us the choice.

So no...
Christianity doesn't condemn you....you are already condemned unless you "choose" to seek God and listen to the message He is trying to tell you....He preserved God's Word so we would know His plan......and you can't earn salvation...it is a gift given to you
...but you have to choose Jesus to be your Saviour...and everyone has the same choice....

Christians are told to share the truth...but they can't make anyone choose God....only each person can do it....what they are trying to say...sometimes very clumsily....is that God wants you to listen
before it is too late

Read Genesis (the first book in the Bible)...then John, which tells God's plan....then Revelation which tells the future coming....you won't understand it all...but God says...if you search, He will show you...and God never lies.

Let me first tell you that I was once like you, I wonder what the point was to all this (what I thought was) kissing up. But as I hit my 20's I decided to see for myself so I than could make a decision on what my beliefs are or should be. One day you will find yourself picking up the Bible and finding the answer for yourself, I never thought i would , but it happened. Yes, the Lord is our creator and praise is extremely important because it is our way of showing gratitude for our existence. "For the Lord gave us his only begotten son and those who believe will not perish, but have eternal life."The Lord says that the way to the Kingdom of Heaven is through his son. So yes, the rest will perish! If you say the Lord is selfish, please tell me what have you done? Why would you want to defame your creator and father? Good luck in your search for meaning. Try reading the Bible, then you can decide, for it or against it, but at least give yourself time to learn the facts.

christ does not want u to do anything u do not desire to do, one should desire to give him praise, he died for u w/out knowing you. there is nothing selfish in dying for someone. am not aware that the bible states one is destines for hell if one does not praise god, it is if u do not confess him as your savoir, and ask him to forgive one of their sins.

You can't win. Assuming that one religion is right, how do you know which one? If it's one of those extreme religions where one must be born into a family of that religion to be saved, then if you're not, you're going to hell. If you choose any religion, and another is right than you're going to hell. The best thing to do is realize how utterly illogical the whole god concept is and become a humble Pastafarian. Not only do none of us Pastafarians actually believe in our religion, but we have pirates, flismy oral standards, and every Friday is a holiday! Plus, heaven has a stripper factory and beer volcanoes.

Again it is not about "doing good" - good works does not get you into heaven. Only one way will open the doors of heaven and that is if you accepted God's gift of His Son who died for you. Praise is not so much for God as it is for us. We need to praise and worship Him for several reasons: 1) It gets our eyes off ourself, off circumstances, and off of our finite existence - We see an eternal, all powerful, all loving God who accepts us and fellowships with us; 2) It makes satan "back up" - satan can't stand true praise and worship and he will not stay around where that atmosphere exists. 3) The Word says that God "inhabits the praises of His people." It draws us into the very presence of God and we commune in great intimacy with Him. There is nothing else like it. You call God selfish - when He has given you all of Himself even though we all deserve nothing but eternal punishment - He GAVE HIMSELF. It is we who are selfish for not accepting that gift, for not accessing all that the relationship of that gift offers, and for not "doing it God's way" instead of our own.
The epitome of selfishness - saying NO to God and YES to my own will.
You do not go to hell because you don't praise - you do go to hell because you did not accept Jesus as your personal Savior. You can know Him if you desire to do so.
