a family friend . The night that it happened my husband was ill and had to go to the hospital. His wife and him were taking care of our daughter and well he molested her that night and our world has changed. My daughter is going to counsiling and the SOB is in jail
til atleast the trial, hopefully they find him guilty. I lost my bestfriend(his wife). It is so hard to deal with all the emotions and yes counsiling has helped some but not alot for me.
I just keep asking what could I have done to protect my daughter and save my friendship?(with his wife)

give justice first to your daughter before planning how to win again you bestfriend. time heals all wounds and ultimately you will be reconciled again with your bestfriend after full understanding fom each other.

It is impossible to protect your children from all the sick people in the world. It is not your fault this happened. It is too bad that you lost your best friend. Did she actually take her husband's side in this? The poor women has her own problems if she is that blind to her husband's crime. I don't believe there is anything you could have done differently. This is a sad situation for all concerned (with the exception of that SOB).

I am so sorry this happened to your family.

Who cares about the friendship! If she is sticking by her child molesting man who molested your daughter she is not much of a friend! There is nothing you can do but stick by your daughter, and that means losing that friend. How horrible for your daughter if you were to let her back into your life?!

Well, you should know that there wasn't much you could do to protect your daughter from him. He's a sick jerk who seriously needs help and you need to know that this isn't your fault. he took advantage of your trust and used it to get to your daughter and no one could have seen that coming. as for your friend, she didn't commit the crime so be sure not to condemn her and make sure you let her know that you still value her friendship. She's probably just depressed about the whole situation.
