Not in theory and not in practice.
Theory: Slit throats of unbelievers:
Sura 47:4: "Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, smite at their necks; until when you have overcome themm, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
Practice: Jihadists today invoke the Quran to justify the worst terrorist crimes. Throat slitting of infidels is mentioned in the Quran. Al-Mawardi (d. 1058), the prominent 11th century jurist quoted this verse, specifically, « When you encounter those who deny (the Truth) then strike (their) necks. » (Quran 47 :4), in his learned discussion of jihad. This ritual execution is also mentioned in other Muslim legal texts and in narratives of Christian and prominent Muslim historians. Today it is performed against infidels and recorded on videotape for the edification of Muslim audiences.
Tinkerbell states a "fact" that is in fact a lie, regarding where torture is legal. It is not legal in the U.S. or Israel. But it is legal in the Palestinian Authority, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and nearly every Muslim country that you can think of.
Actually, the Quran promotes torture, so its legality in Muslim states should not come as a surprise.

Yes, it does. But sorry, I couldn't see that clip due to my slow connection. But I think that it shows an Arab Muslim woman who converted into other religion not because she found her new religion more convincing, I guess she left Islam because a Muslim has treated her badly, maybe her husband, for example.
Here are some verses from the holy Quran : " We have dignified the tribe of Adam". " O people, we have created you from males and females and made you nations and tribes to communicate". It's prominent how these verses show peace and equality of Islam and more it shows the humanity of Islam and how it teaches people that they are humans first and last. In the past 100 years Muslims in the Arab world have suffered a lot from the foreign occupation, and now they don't have any authority at all on their lands. They just practice their religon at home. Now they are meek and weak. I mean that there isn't a representative power for Islam. But looking back at history, once upon a time when Muslims were powerful and able to do anything they just were a prominent example of tolerance. Maybe this woman was beaten by her husband, I don't know. But true Muslims get their information from Quran. And this man who beats his wife or treat her badly is a sinner according to Islam, he should get a punishment, his wife has the right to ask for divorce, and according to Islam he will get a punishment in the eternity. But I believe that treating an animal badly encourages to treat entire nations badly. And the people who oppressed this lady are scoundrels and maybe they are Muslims but not following Islam as they should do. But I can't get why they said a Muslim woman, why didn't they mention her country's name only, they just generalized a lot here. See this link, it shows that Muslims didn't oppress entire nations, how can they oppress a woman or any person?

Yes. In practice, Islam is not always about peace and equality. If I said it was, I'd be lying. But it's SUPPOSED to be, and most Muslims do practice it as a peaceful religion that's all about equality. Just because there are a few very famous bad examples of Islam doesn't mean that's what it's all about. I don't walk around thinking all Christians kill heathens and torture non-believers, do I? No. Just because some have in the past doesn't mean that's what the religion is supposed to be about.

Muslims are violent, terrorists and/or extremists. This is the biggest misconception in Islam, no doubt resulting from the constant stereotyping and bashing the media gives Islam. When a gunman attacks a mosque in the name of Judaism, a Catholic IRguerrilla sets off a bomb in an urban area, or Serbian Orthodox militiamen rape and kill innocent Muslim civilians, these acts are not used to stereotype an entire faith. Never are these acts attributed to the religion of the perpetrators. Yet how many times have we heard the words 'Islamic, Muslim fundamentalist. etc.' linked with violence.
Politics in so called "Muslim countries" may or may not have any Islamic basis. Often dictators and politicians will use the name of Islam for their own purposes. One should remember to go to the source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam says from what is portrayed in the media. Islam literally means 'submission to God' and is derived from a root word meaning 'peace'.
Islam may seem exotic or even extreme in the modern world. Perhaps this is because religion doesn't dominate everyday life in the West, whereas Islam is considered a 'way of life' for Muslims and they make no division between secular and sacred in their lives. Like Christianity, Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock.
NOWHERE DOES ISLAM ENJOIN THE KILLING OF INNOCENTS..
The Quran says: "Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Quran 2:190) "If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things." (Quran 8:61) War, therefore, is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The term 'jihad' literally means 'struggle'. Muslims believe that there are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle of the soul which everyone wages against egotistic desires for the sake of attaining inner peace.

I saw the video. The woman has her own point of view, and called the Muslims "barbers" etc. How is she different from the Muslims if she does not respect the Muslim's right to have their own opinion.
Assume that somebody has direct link with GOD. Given that assumption, whatever the person says will be from GOD and hence above the worldly laws. If GOD is one, then His laws should be the only one really acceptable by Him. The very existence of GOD is a hypothesis. It is just a matter of faith, not a matter of dispute.

Yes,Islam represent peace and equality,as all the other religions...In every religion there are extremists who chose to give a different meaning to what they read...
As for what this lady says...Well a clash between" a mentality that belongs to the Middle Age and a mentality that belongs to the 21st century"...well in what countries is torture legal?US and Israel...none of this countries are Muslims and yet they use techniques from the Middle Age..."a clash between barbarity and rationality"....oh,yes,what those soldiers did in Abu Grahib,it's not at all barbaric,it's so rational...humiliating people in the way those soldier did it's "rational"..."a clash between freedom and
oppression, between democracy an dictatorship"...of course,I mean what could be more free then speaking up your mind and ending in jail, you have so much freedom and privacy when the government is listening to your phone and it's reading your mail...Yes,this is a true democracy..."those who treat women like beast and those who treat women like human beings"...there are many people living in what she calls the "civilized world" who treat women worst then beast, who beat them up,who even kill them...So this is not a feature of the Muslim world...
"They started this war"...it was us who couldn't mind our own business and wanted their resources,so we went and mess into their business trying to force them to believe into something they don't want to...Iraq never asked to be a democracy and yet we want to force them to accept it because we think this is good for them....We are wrong here....
Sure I am not denying that the Jews suffered during Holocaust, yes,it was one of the greatest tragedy of humankind, but they were not the only ones who suffered, and yet they are the only ones still complaining about it..."Force the world to respect them with knowledge ,not terror...not crying and yelling".One example:King's David Hotel...And I know that I have generalized ...I know that not all Jewsih people agree with how Israel was created and that not all are complaining about the Holocaust, some actually stopped living in the past...
