Your QUESTION was "...terms for an understanding"...

According to the Thesaurus...
Understanding - adj - compassionate, considerate, forgiving, kind, kindly, patient, sympathetic, tolerant.

Understanding - n - brains, comprehension, disceernment, faculty, intellect, intelligent, judgement, knowledge, mind, reason, sense.

Simple as.

Alliance - adj - combine, join, connect, marry, unite

Alliance - n - Friends, associates, partners, assistants, colleagues

Simple as.

Go figure it out.

If, you are referring to USA and NATO/UK, well as I understand it, the reason for them working together in this conflict is because it is SUPPOSED to be a U.S.-led coalition force against the evils of terrorism in AFGHANISTAN.

HOWEVER, that has been proven not to be "quite accurate"... because once George W Bush secured the help of his "allies", he promptly withdrew 77% of US troops out of AFGHANISTAN, and set about securing oil rights from other neighbouring countries.. 1 by 1 believing any excuse his hidden mandarins tell him to be the reason for invading another country.

Do I say that? Do I believe that?

I can only go on past experience and the facts... and the facts, and history will out !

In the meantime, UK/NATO troops will continue to be brought home in body bags - killed by "allied forces"...FACT !

All because America asked for NATO/UK Military help.. then moved on to another country.. I don't think the recognised description of the "terms for an understanding" cover such action.
