Maybe she has a learning disorder, if not pointed out some people don't learn they have common disorders like dyslexia or dysgraphia until they are in their 30s. I suffer from dysgraphia, my teachers always thought I was just lazy or messy when I wrote but it turns out I had a real problem, though I had already finished college when it was discovered. Talk with her school counselor, find out if she's having any social difficulties that she may not be discussing with you. If she is being teased or maybe lacks friends, she may not see the point of putting effort into her schoolwork. Try explaining to her the importance of an education, help her to realize how privileged she should feel to be able to go to school freely. In many countries women aren't allowed schooling. I know it's hard to get through to kids sometime but maybe if she realizes how concerned you really are she may put it a more earnest effort. Good Luck and God Bless.

If she is spiritually motivated, you could possibly remind her that God is concerned with all endeavors you apply your effort to, and that she is not honoring him with her grades (although, I wouldn't say that it's necessarily a sin to fail classes- sometimes school is simply not for some people, although she should at least finish HS). Also, try and find something academic that interest her in general such as a particular foreign language she might want to learn, or something different like Art history. If she gets into studying something she's passionate about, her other grades should improve.

Not sure of your parenting style. Do you require her to get good grades, or do you view good grades as a benefit to herself?
Some people are just not into school. If average grades are acceptable to you, and that is what she is getting, leave it alone.
If she is failing miserably, it's time for you to step up as a parent! Start taking privileges away, and stick to your decisions. Don't be wishy washy.
Have you thought about parenting classes?

no movies, hanging out with friends until the grades come up...also make her meet with her teachers after school for tutoring or get her a tutor....call her teachers and meet with them...failing means she isnt doing a thing for class...its ea sy to get a c just showing up and doing the minimun.... You need to be a proactive parent....make sure she does homework at night..sit and watch her...also cancel the cable.... My dad always made sure i got good grades by threats....i knew he would follow through so i always kept up my grades

Sound like a good kids. Maybe she struggles in school and this drives her away from even trying. I would talk to her and hope she opens up to her or if you have to talk to the school about maybe holding her back a year.

she could have problems with learning that you aren't aware of. honestly she doesn't sound confident in her abilities. find out her weakest subjects and help her (yourself or a tutor), praise her a lot, build up her confidence until she realises she can do it herself and then let her run. you have to find the problem before you can find a solution.

Some kids don't like school. Be thankful if she graduates.
