FIRST of all, The Spelling is ATHEIST!
And an atheist is NOT afraid of God to begin with. An atheist is someone who denies the existence of god. so, there is no question of being afraid of God!
And if you dont like or believe in something, you ignore it and dont waste time with it, well thats your perspective. Don't try to impose the same on others!
An atheist has no issues with others believing in what they do. They just take no for the existence of God. Thats it! (S)he is still the same normal human as you are and believe in cultural harmony with respect to other's beliefs. They are not to fight to prove themselves correct. They are what they are and what they believe in.
So, try to be more open minded and try thinking like most other do!

People are always afraid of what they don't know. I'm not talking about the intellectual pursuit of a specific religion. I am talking about a personal relationship with God. The two are very different. Atheists as well as agnostics can argue all day about a "religion" but when it comes right down to it, they really can't say anything about God because they don't know him. How would they know if he didn't exist if they have never sought him?

The Christian Bogus Man will get you!!!...atheists don't fear what doesn't exist, we want to help you theists escape the fear of non-existent Gods and find your own mind and your own way through life, it's fascinating to be steering your own course without false hopes and without being exploited by religious con-men.
You seem to be wasting your time here on the subject of atheism and yet you say you don't bother with things that don't interest you... so I guess you are quite curious?...come on over to atheism, it's perfectly safe.

I"m an atheist and I'm not afraid in god; I'm afraid of those who believe in any God. It's quite true that a disgustingly large number of all acts of violence are committed in the name of one god or another: Allah, God, whatever. Europeans gave hell to a lot of people in the name of the Christian God. The Klu Klux Klan were mostly Christians of one denomination or another. Don't forget the whole war-spree of Muhammad after the whole thing at Mecca, or the atrocities of the Spanish Inquisition. Suicide bombers are told to have faith in their god who will grant them a wonderful afterlife if they blindly take faith in what extremists want. Slavery, imperialistic domination, torture, all in the name of someone's god. Atheists try to destroy religion to destroy these people; we do it so that the world may be free from such violence and hate.

Well, many of us come here because we actually like to learn about something before we dismiss it out of hand. We also like to exchange ideas with people who maybe don't think the same way we do. We like to know how the other half thinks, so we can better defend ourselves against them. Besides, you guys are funny.

The answers one sees in this forum represent a triumph of flippancy over rigor. Those that answer from atheist perspectives tend to have not formally studied the matters being asked for several years; rather they enjoy mocking or proving that they really have no value to add to the answer.
Funny thing is, you don't see any persons of faith piling on or being flippant in forums that are focused upon atheism, such as the Usenet talk.origins forum at
http://groups.google.com/group/talk.origins/topics?hl=en
Sadly, the questions are sometimes poorly formed or are laden with underlying bias that tells the reader that no cogent and rigorous answer will satisfy the asker.
Just keep asking questions in an objective manner and you will sometimes get useful responses. I try to answer questions so structured with reasoned and rigorous responses.

In case you haven't noticed this site is full of atheists. If they bother you so much why are you here? Don't you have church and 190, 000, 000 Christians in America to talk to?

I just made a post about this. Again, it's ATHEISTS not athiests or aethiests.
We CAN'T be afraid of something that doesn't exist. It's a very easy thing to understand. Are YOU afraid of Thor? You're atheist to him right?
Our motives? To educate the world. Get rid of theistic religion because it's ruining the world. Want more reasons? I got plenty.

Yeah,That's a good question. It's interesting how one can degrade and ask questions about something/someone they don't accept. Why would they do such? Do they want to convert us? Do they feel that believing as they do will save us from something bad? What's in it for them? Most Christians write things to help an atheist. They do want to help in showing the way to salvation and eternal life. It's out of concern for their well being. It isn't like a Christian is making or forcing them to do, or not do, something. It's out of care, love, aid to them.

Why are you so afraid of your fantasy that you do believe? You think your fantasy Boogie Man Satan will jump out and bite your butt. So because you do things a certain way you think every one should do like you. Typical of a Christian idiot.
