The Atheist vs Christianity vs Islam theme gets kind of old. I would like to discuss topics with other Christians without getting all the "cute" quips. I'm sure others would like to have their own area too. They could keep this group as a "battleground" and have seperate areas for various religions or nonreligous groups (as odd as that sounds). Good idea or the craziest thing you ever heard?

Really there is such a thing as a chat room? LOL I mean ask questions of Christians. I think alot of good questions get overlooked because of the "debates".

actually that sounds like a really awesome idea cuz then if someone had a question about a certain religion they could just go to that area and we could still have this area for the debates. if u can find a way to contact yahoo and give ur info to them email me and ill back u up. just click on my pic to email me. maybe if enough ppl got together and contacted yahoo u could pull this off. good luck and great idea!!!

I agree. As a Christian I would like to ask and discuss issues that involve Christianity without all the backlash from the non-believers. I respect everyone and would expect the same, but in reality it is not going to happen. I think there should be two different groups. In actuality they are two different things. You can be spiritual without being religious.

I'll suggest something, if I may...

Just ignore the cute quips. Really. If I see something here I don't care to discuss, I ignore it and find something I DO wish to discuss.

Just like with my TV... if I find something I don't like, I don't ask advertisers to stop advertising on that show or petition congress to ban that type of programming. I just use my remote and change the channel.

Try it... it's quite freeing.

Try to link yourself to someone who looks like they have something truly productive to say and take the conversation out of this site. I've been on for about 4 months and have noticed zero progress in the questions or answers.

If they did this I would never be in the "atheist" category. I'm not interested in sitting around with others and talking about things we all agree on--hearing dissenting viewpoints is kinda the reason I come here.

I dont think they would have enough questions to fill all the sub categories. You just need to hope that people will respect questions on topics that they do not know the answer too. I think that people just need better manners.

This isn't a chat room you know.

It is a question and answer format but not a dialog between anyone. You ask a question and others answer it.
You want a chatroom then here's a marvel idea GO INTO A CHAT ROOM! There are tons of yahoo chatrooms!

I'd like to see separate categories -- one for those who ask serious questions and receive serious answers, and then another category for the children who are interested only in attacking others.

why talk about things we agree on? that is just a waste fo time. No, i think it is good to compare thoughts with each other.

It's meaningless, since those who are here too proselytize don't respect boundaries.
