I posted a previous question on the mark of the beast. I would like to know if the 666 is the name of a man how would you figure that out? Or do you think its a biblical code of some sort?

The numder 6 in Biblical numerology is a sign of man or imperfection. Three sixes in one person is the sign of the Antichrist imitating the Holy Trinity of God (Father, Son, Holy Ghost) through Satanically charged means (Satan, Antichrist, and False Prophet). This "Satanic counterfeit" will decieve many into thinking the seven year reign of the Antichrist will bring about the best times in human history (at least until the Antichrist foolishly tries to take the throne in the Third Temple and proclaim himself to be God, thereby revealing his heresy).

from a fellow Christian, don't bother figuring it out. It was written during the era of Nero. Caesar Nero adds up in numerology to 666. So does Napoleon Bonaparte and other evil figures. Live a good Christian life and don't add stress to your life by such futile matters. God bless you. Look up numerology and its values for letters of the alphabet for more info.

Yes, it is a Biblical code. It is man's number. God's numbers are 7 and 10 in Revelation.

Well, I know if I have a son I am definitely naming him 666. Or maybe 888. Though on the other hand, Steve is such a pretty name. Good thing he isn't around yet

Yes, the man in question is Nero, the Roman emperor during early Christianity who heavily persecuted the Church.

I'm not an expert on this, so I don't know exactly how it works. But if you take his name and title and add up the numerical equivalent in Roman numerals, it adds up to 666.

If you assign sequencial numbers to each letter of the name of the religion: "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" the total of these numbers will be 666. This is the Mormon Church. It is also the name of a man.

to some people, 666 WAS the name of a former (and tyrant) roman leader; and so to them, it has no significance in this day and age.to other people(especially christians) 666 REPRESENTS the anti-christ who is to come. it is not necesarrily the name of that person

there are so many possibilities produced by decoding the number to mean a name. remember, john said the number was his name. he could be writing what he saw. i think in time we will be so preoccupied by putting meaning behind the number, that i think we'll miss the obvious when it spits on our shoes. truthfully, i think to understand it fully, you'll have to read it in the original translation in which it was first written.
