We've been studying ancient India in class. I have never really thought much of it until now, but I'm half Indian. I'm actually half Brahmin. When we learned about the Brahmin's oppresive, narcissistic nature, I felt bad about it...Like I did it.

I know I sound really stupid. And prejudiced against my own ancestors. But should I feel bad to be an oppressive Brahmin?

You shouldn't feel bad because of something your ancestors did. Don't waste your time feeling bad for things that happened a long time ago...and that you had no controll over. Worry about the things going on around you now. No one is going to hold the things your ancestors did agianst you! Don't worry about it to much. God Bless! And be happy that you are finding out more about your ancestors.

Why do you feel bad, you didn't do it.
And in the far past, society was, the way it was..there was a caste system, and the different levels on the caste system acted the way society said they were supposed to act.

If then was now, you couldn't change the system, systems change through evolving, Just as now, there is some predjudices in life between races, not as much as 50 years ago, and probably much more than 50 years in the future.

Get on with your life, don't live in the past, and accept everyone as an equal.

Do you personally oppress people? Why should you feel bad? You had nothing do with what your ancestors did. If we had to feel bad about what our ancestors did every race on this planet would have a reason to hide their face. Now you may feel bad if you think what they did was right. Its not your fault they acted like they did, so no you shouldn't feel bad.

no. just because ur race is like that doesnt mean u are. i have jew in me but i also have german in me so does that mean i have to hate myself for what part of me did to the other? im not trying to be mean but its true. u are who u are. if ur not like that then why feel bad. i feel bad for the jews but just because i have german (and jew) in me doesnt mean that i dislike the germans. be proud of who u are and if some 1 doesnt like u for u then u dont need em.
