1st of all allow me to express my grief on your past miss fortune,
Now to the question@ hand
Over reacting Not at all, I believe if he has been your boyfriend for over 5 years that he should know better than that he could have at least bought you a rose or a small box of candy a card or for that fact drew you a picture on a piece of paper or even taken you out to eat, and picked up the car new tomorrow the day after Valentines day,
As we all know Valentine's Day is for Lovers, But he was showing you how much he loves himself after all there are those who love only themselves, which is in my opinion a prime example of selfishness, and neglect, and not to mention a person who drinks too much tea; Now I am sure you are asking yourself what kind of tea is he talking about and the answer is very simple "stupidity"
But over reacting? I don't think so

My ultimate chum's son is autistic. i like him to death. She is likewise bodily handicapped and has a perplexing time retaining up with him some days. each time we flow out to lunch or dinner mutually with our little ones, she gets so under pressure. human beings stare and make comments approximately his habit yet he's no longer being undesirable... he's now and back loud. She basically sits and cries now and back as quickly as we get to the vehicle. I tell her to no longer permit the jerks get to her... that she does not could stay her existence at the back of her closed door and that her son is basically stunning. he's definitely a blessing via fact medical doctors from the beginning up have informed her that first she'd in no way stay previous 5 years previous. Then that she'd in no way walk. Then that she'd in no way make it out of her little ones, and ultimately that she'd in no way have the skill to have little ones. She's nearing 33 now and has a desirable son. i do no longer think of you have overreacted in any respect. in reality you have been lots calmer than i'd have been had somebody mentioned that approximately my acquaintances son. he's nearly a nephew to me and his auntie is very holding.

Wait...what? He bought who a car? Himself?
Maybe he thinks that you don't like the day and does not want to remind you....Or perhaps he is self-absorbed and does not care about your feelings...
He can't read minds, so he does not know how much pain you are in, so get him a present, and then he will get the hint...

No, you are NOT overreacting. If he's been your boyfriend for over 5 weeks, much less 5 years, you're entitled to expect someting for Valentine's Day.
He's a selfish creep. you need to tell him how you feel.

You need to get some counseling. I am sure that you have told him that you don't like to celebrate and I am sure that he thinks it is no big deal.
Truly... go get some counseling. I am sorry that something so horrible happened to you! Honestly, and I am not trying ot be cold or mean but you need some help.

No your not overreacting. Just cuz you don't like today your boryfriend still should have got you something to show he cares . He shouldn't have be so selfish & got something for himself on this day. Sounds like he care more about himself.

If you don't like the day then don't expect anything for the day. You are sending him mixed feelings confusing him and eventually you will drive him away even if he never leaves you.

maybe he just realizes that you don't like the holiday and thought it would be a good idea to treat it like any normal day and not bring up memories... i think you're overreacting.
