Is it safe to throw out incandescent light bulbs in the trash? I want to properly dispose of them if they are environmentally dangerous. I've tried searching for answers on the web but I can't find any clear answers on this.

Incandescent bulbs contain a small bit of lead in the end of them, but it's not anything to worry about. Fluorescents have mercury vapor in them, but again, it's a trace amount and not dangerous.

Yes, it's OK to throw them in the trash. You might wrap them in something to avoid hurting someone on the glass.

Of course you throw them in the trash, where else you put a burnt out light bulb. It's trash.
