You should probably stop eating more than a 1/2 time a day, and start drinking very hard, but only if you don't pay for it! How can anyone be a professional poet?! I mean, to be a professional, you would have to make money of what you do - can't do that with poetry, for sure! But, if you mean to devote yourself seriously to the job, that's another thing. Just don't think that you'll get very far with it, and know - you will have to find a day-time job, just to live by. Of course, it would help if you have a rich family...

Then, assuming the scout likes what he sees and the gang's officers like the checklist, you will get drafted. then you have something of the MLB season to sign a settlement with the gang that drafted you. you will in all probability finally end up interior the Rookie league. you will would desire to get promoted to short-season A, A, A stepped forward, AA, AAA, and then into the MLB.

There are no "professional poets," unless you are Maya Angelou. Poetry is something you write basically for yourself. There is no market today for poetry in the REAL literary world. You can submit to those bogus on line sites who take EVERYONE's poetry, and all the rest, but basically there is absolutely no future in writing poetry. Trust me on this one.
