Me and my husband plan on going on a cruise this summer, I'm 20 and hes 22, I was reading on a few websites that if you were 18-20 your parent could sign a waiver to let you drink, if you are married what would happen? This cruise is to the Bahamas. thanks

You have to show legal proof of marriage to even be on a cruise ship under 21. It depends on the cruise line. Royal Caribbean and Carnival are 18 for beer and wine. Anything else is 21. Your parent has to be on the ship and sign the waiver. They don't care if your husband is 22. I've called. Also when you're seeing "cheap" prices for cruises online its a scam. You're better off finding a travel agency. They will quote you a price with the port charges and other taxes already included. Those prices online never include these extra charges.

Whats the point of drinking at age 18 I mean most ships follow some of the US laws and most ships you have to be 21 to drink otherwise have your parents sign a consent form but they have to be on the cruise with you and that only applies in like Europe where their drinking age is like 16 so good luck, just enjoy it while you can cuz alcohol can change your life.

All ships require that you have to be 21. If they want to sail out of the US they must keep this standard. Even if you are sailing on a cruise that does not touch the US, they have to keep the standard on all their voyages. If you travel on a cruise line that never stops in the US on any of their ships ever then that may be different.

The following lines I know are 21+
Carinval
Princess
Costa
Cunard
Windstar
Yachts of Seabourn
NCL
Holland America
Royal Caribbean
Celebrity
Seven Seas
Oceana
Disney
Crystal

21 is 21. Married, single, divorced or widowed, if you are not 21, you are not drinking on a ship legally. The islands have a different policy. They need it to be 21 too. I cruised to Mexico and some kids got drunk and ruined that night for me.

either call the cruise line find out, or if your cruise line is out of a different country than you are allowed to drink if you are over 18 when you are in the international waters. same as airline (for example Lufthansa), if you are over 18 once you take off US land, you can drink.

Q: What is Royal Caribbean International's Age Policy?

A: No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is required). Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to ask for proof of age. Royal Caribbean International's age policy for gambling and consumption of alcoholic beverages is as follows:

Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation.

ALCOHOL POLICY
Effective as of all sailings commencing on or after July 28, 2006, the minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on all Royal Caribbean International ships is 21.

However, on cruises departing from European and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to 20 year old to consume alcoholic beverages.

The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without notice.

Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Royal Caribbean's Guest Vacation Policy may be enforced, up to and including disembarkation, if a guest violates any alcohol policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Vacation Policies.

Royal Caribbean reserves the right to revoke or otherwise restrict drinking privileges of any guest, regardless of age.
