Wouldn't you wear black to a funeral?
So why not wear black for someone as important as Seyyed Al-Shuhada?

I do wear black on the day the Prophet died and the day Imam Ali (alaih salam) died, and so on.
It is more a symbol of respect for the Prophet and his Ahl El-Beit.
And yes I do wear black to funerals.
And you made a mistake, Seyyed Al-Shuhada was Imam Husein (alaih salam)

I lived in Dubai for 18-19 years. Saw it every year. It is on the 10th day of Muharram.

wearing red has nothing to do with Ali, but it's a culture clothes, sunnies respect Ali and everyone who was side and side supporting prophet Muhammad. why don't you wear black on the death of prophet Muhammad? did prophet Muhammad told you wear black every year when someone dies?
but Islam told us to say, to God we belong and to God we are returning back. life continues.
ok bro, u should NOT wear black every year. this is not something that prophet Muhammad asked for, because those believers are with the mercy of God. and instead of divide Islam by calling people sunnies and you are shia, help Islam to be united brother. peace

My husband is Al-OAbedi and he does not were black nor does he were red he goes about his day

i am a sunni n we dont wear red or black 4 ne funeral! wat r u talkin abt........r u talkin abt da shias?? i guess u mus hve seen em doin dat plus its ALI radhiallaho anho not alaihis salaam thts only 4 prophets. i live in dubai 2 n never seen ne sunni doin dat. we only fast on dat day. dats it........

i do not like the term Sunni --shiat --stuff ---I am just a Muslim----the prophet never said i was Sunni or shiat ---he was just a Muslim and submit to God
