So the next time you talk - ask him to go to a movie with you! He is probably being a gentlman, and is really nervous like you!.
Trust me - once you ask, you will wonder why you ever held back. It's normal for a gal to ask a guy out now - so just do it! Before another gal snags him!

You seem like you get along good with him. So just say "Hey, are you going to ask me out soon or what?" Why don't you just ask him out?

i've been married to the guy that was too shy to ask me out.
he says he asked me out, and i said no, i was going to a concert.
all he said was "what are you doing tonight". I didn't take that as a signal of asking me out.
so ask him out!!
