Thrush is caused from yeast. The antibiotics helped you get that. Rinse and spit with a hydrogen peroxide and water solution. Proper oral hygiene and hand hygiene is important to prevent spread. Hearing loss can be caused by ear infections or a reaction to antibiotics which can cause hearing loss or a ringing in the ears. You have to take the full course of abx for them to work not just left overs from someplace. Rheumatic fever can cause sterilization in men if not treated. Not to mention seizures and heart problems for life. The steriods are to reduce infammation in the lungs. Make sure you drink lots of fluids and try to eat to gain your energy back. If you're a smoker, stop. It will make it harder for you to recover.

I had this same problem for months last year and I thought it would never end, so I really feel for you. In hindsight, I'm sure it took a long time to get better because I was sick with worry that it was more serious and I'm sure that this hindered my recovery. I took the antibiotics but also started to take a more holistic approach. I rested, drank loads of warm water, lots of smoothies ( for vitamins ) and pro biotic drinks. I ate only whole grain breads, home-made vegetable soups and porridge oats.I also ate a spoonful of Manuka Honey which is a fabulous natural antiseptic, each morning and evening. I gargled twice daily with soluble aspirin ( don't do this if aspirin does not agree with you ). I tried to be positive to get out of the cycle of illness and worry. Honestly, within two weeks I was back at work. Be kind to yourself, put healing foods into your body and try to rest. You will get better - I promise you. Take care. x

Rhematic fever is very bad...my sister got it after a doctor refused to even consider it as a possibility because is was "rare"...it can cause heart problems...my sister got a heart murmur...among other things...you need to go to the doctor...as for your hearing, I don't know...I'm sorry that you don't have insurance, but you do need to get to a doctor...untreated rheumatic fever can be fatal

That's sad. Sore throat and strep throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

I can't help you with the strep, but I would strongly advise getting an attorney for getting fired. Ihope you still have the Drs. note.
