now it want fire off. is there a fuel reset button or maybe a drain bowl for water contamination. when i left his house he decided to spray some starting fluid in the air intake and a small flash fire occured. what caused this? any help on getting the car running would be appreciated im just not a mechanic and his daddy isnt around.

You don't use starter fluid(unless you want to blow it up) Because it was run dry, other contaminants is probably in the line or in the online fuel filter. Change the filter, as water can act as a solid blockage (not allowing the fuel to get by). Just toss it and get a new one. Then you got to crank it to fill the filter with fuel before it heads on farther. But keep off the starter fluid. That is for (non glow plug diesels).

i own a repair shop,and what caused the small flash was the starting fluid ,he may have put to much in it,that's not whats making it not start though,it may be air locked in the fuel line,or it might have picked up some sediments from the bottom of the tank,and clogged the filter on it,check to see if its actually getting fuel,you can hear the pump running when the key is turned on if its working right,good luck,i hope this help,s.
