Bob, Jim and Phillip tragically die on Christmas day whilst on a plane, and subsequently float up to heaven. When they reach the gates of heaven God appears and confronts them.
He explains that only the good and noble may enter, so he decides to test each of the men to see if they are worthy enough.
He turns towards Bob and tells him, 'In order to enter you must pass a small test', 'If you have something on you that reminds me of Christmas - you shall enter!'
Bob fumbles around inside his pockets and pulls out a flashlight, 'Its a candle!'.
God lets Bob enter.
He asks the same question to Jim, who also searches his pockets and reveals numerous keys attached to a key chain, he shakes them and says, 'They are bells!'.
God lets Jim enter.
He finally turns to Phillip and asks exactly the same question, he too searches his pockets, he finally pulls out a thong and states, 'They are Carols!'
