alright so tell me if my understanding is right or totally off...

while the seed is in the state of dormancy, it is using resources inside of it for energy, and once the conditions are right, it enters the state or germination, in which is uses cellular respiration to make atp for energy becuz it doesnt have leaves and therefore no chloroplasts to absorb the photons for photosynthesis. then, the first two little leaves sprout (the cotyledon) and that is when photosynthesis can start.

is that right!?!?!

Yes, that's a good answer. I'd give you credit for it.

partly
seeds can lay dormant for many years even centuries

mushroom seeds float through space and land here as dust on falling meteor stones ,they could have been dormant for centuries

in the Sahara and other dessert the eggs and seeds of ,frogs ,fish and plants ,lay dormant for as much as 50 years ,then they have rain and all springs to life

,not only that, the fish ,frogs and flowers grow and mature exceptionally fast to produce seeds and eggs to be ready before the whole lot dries up again and will wait for the next 50 years.

so the seeds or eggs that are in hibernation use nothing they are in a frozen state ,

germination starts with the apearance of humidity or correct conditions that the plant thinks will sustain a germination to its completion.

photosynthesis starts with the apearance of exposed plant tissue or fibre
