When I have this dream it all starts out like how it really happened. But then things start to change. Like, everything will pause as I can still free roam... and slowly start to go back to a normal dream. Next thing it will go back to a very askew dream more like a nightmare. Every time I hit the guy it's like it won't phase him. Nearly as if he we more UNDEAD. Zombie like. Comeing back for more. And then my surreal, abstract imagination starts to leak into reality where I have waken up to my wife telling me that I was so tense that it was squishing her when she was in my arms. I am scared that this dream could end up hurting me or even more imprtantly her. Is there more to it than just a spectacle of learning a new skill??? I do know that it often changes and I learn something new in the dream every time I have it. Like small things change. One time will be I can move faster and stronger... the next I can jump higher and kick or punch harder. What is this all about???

This used to happen to my husband, and once he woke up punching and kicking the wall. The main thing that went through both our heads when we woke up from it, was thank god it was the wall and not me, lol. He always shared his dreams with me and we tried to figure out what caused them, because dream interpretation has always intrigued me. I've found the best way to figure out the meaning of a dream is to look at what is going on in your life. When I have a nightmare, I often look for an underlying cause and sometimes find that what causes it can be something completely unrelated. The event could trigger some fear or anger in our subconscious that gets played out while we are sleeping. Is there something in your daily life that you are "fighting" or struggling with? Try to look at what may be causing stress in your life when you have these dreams. If you can't figure it out, then maybe keeping a journal about the dreams and what happened during the day or week you had the dream would help identify a pattern. Just a suggestion, but it might help.
