I have no idea what to do, I love the girl cousin to death, she's almost 13 and very fun to be with...I enjoy letting go and just becoming a kid with her. I'd like to take her out more and let her spend the night to goof off, things she will remember about her favorite older cousin. The problem is, her brother who's 10 is a spoiled brat, his mom babies him and tells him how cute he is (even when he's in trouble.) Because of this, he demands everybody's attention and throws a fit when he doesn't get it. Plus he constantly bites and pesters the girl...and she gets in trouble for it. I can't take being around him for longer than an hour..how do I take her out shopping and be with her more without hurting mommy's boy and his mommy?

tell his mom that you want a girl day out with just the girl cousin. The mom needs to know you have boundries and respect that. She should understand girl time. Tell her if she wants her son to have his nails painted, makeup and dressed up to be one of the girls he can come with. You just need to stand up to her for getting the girl a break from home life. she also needs someone like you to do that for her. Dont back down and if you have to see what your parent thinks about the situation, since they know the aunt better than i do. Use your resources that you have and ask for help.

Tell mommy that you want to spend quality "girl time" with the sister, especially since she is a teenager, and needs guidance. Explain that you want to do things with JUST the girl, so you can have girl talk. If that doesn't work, plan a day of ALL girls stuff (manicures, pedicures, hair appts, facials, chick flicks, clothes shopping, etc), that ought to bore the brat, and maybe he won't want to tag along next time. And when he starts acting up with you, let him no very forcefully, that you are NOT mommy and will not be putting up with his nonsense.

Ask her out without him. He has been spoiled for too long. You don't have to be mean about it, but if you ever want to have fun with your girl cousin, you will have to find a way to spend alone time with her.
Stop worrying about hurting your aunt's/male cousins feelings, they certainly are not worried about anyone else's feelings but their own.

I had the same problem, and the same things happened to my cousin. Your aunt won't care if you just tell her that you'd likespend time with the 13 year old, just promise to spend time with the 10 year old later.
