My bf and i have totally different tastes in music.... he likes metal.. and i am more of a hip hop kinda gal... well newayz... i have learned to like his music, but he makes very little effort to like mine... he says that rap is ignorant etc...... even our styles in dressing is different.... its like we are complete opposites... but yet and still we are happy.. just when it comes to the music issue.. there is a little problem.. sometimes i just dont want to hear all the screaming and stuff that is in his music.... what i think is that if he really loves me he should try to understand my music the same way that i understand his.... do yall forsee a major problem in the future with this issue???

you really do love him cus you are making a point to understand what he likes.. but you know what, dont let your relationship broken just because of the music. its just a matter of MUSIC - you both can swith to another type of music as both of you get along. my boyfriend actually likes the same type of music as your boyfriend do and me yet, techno music. and you know what, it does not affect us at all as time goes by we have now our own same type of music listen to - jazz music.

Not at all.In fact, that is a good testament to what you two share. But,Try this.Make a CD with half hip-hop/half metal and see how he reacts.I don't see it being that big of a deal unless you two make it a big deal, but ask yourself this,Is tastes in music such an important thing to screw up a perfectly fine relationship? Of course you'll disagree with things and is that's the biggest problem,You guys have no problem at all.If he won't give in and listen to your stuff, then don't listen to his.Tell him you're not trying to be a "*****" or anything, but it's also ignorant to be one-sided in a 2 person relationship.Suggest the happy mediums of no music when you 2 are driving or a mixed CD where you two can enjoy your own music at an even keel.Hope this helps at all.

Ask my boyfriend, he`s been a freaky and hardcore headbanger for over fifteen years now! There`s no factor even attempting to transform him to larger "smart" music both so don`t waste your priceless time!!! My opinion? women have more beneficial efficient style in music, for sure. and also, we fee our eardrums a lot more beneficial too!!!

Yeah, You two just aren't compatible. Send him my way if he's cute because I like metal and would never make him listen to hip-hop...
