You really don't need a car at 13. I'm sure your parents have told you all of this, but the price of the car is only a small piece of the expenses of car ownership. Of course the car will need fuel, and that isn't getting any cheaper. The car will need insurance which doesn't get very reasonable till you are 25. In many states you have to pay property taxes on the car, as well as registration fees. You have to deal with maintenance on the car. Sometimes things break, but even when they don't there are regular maintenance expenses like oil changes, and brake jobs. I don't know were you live but I haven't lived in a state yet that will give a 13 yr old a license.

You might want to consider how much bail will cost after you are arrested for driving at age 13. :)
My Toyota Corolla was a used car, 500 miles on it when I bought it, and it cost 12,000 dollars. Of course you can get a good used car for a lot less than that. Maybe you're better off making a deal with your parents-- you'll do stuff for them, like extra housework or washing the car or mowing the lawn in exchange for rides to Jon's house.

A decent used car can run a few thousand dollars.
How about a bicycle for a 13 yo?

1000-3000 $$ at least. Youre not old enough to drive anyway. God help us all when 13 yr olds are legally allowed behind the wheel. lol.

luckily, you have time to save your money to buy a car since you are not old enough to either drive or purchase a car.
You can get a decent bicicyle for around $100, you can save for a decent used car for around $1000 to $10,000, so start saving.
