How about Multiple Sclerosis? My son was diagnosed with MS almost 4 years ago and this is one of the most horrible diseases to watch someone you love have. He has to have brain scans every year and you just pray so hard that there aren't more lesions than there were last time. There is no cure, but he does take weekly injections to help monitor the attacks he has. The injections help prevent the attacks from lasting so long. We are thankful for those injections, although they make him very sick. He gets flu like symptoms and usually a 104 degree fever. These symptoms usually last for about 24 hours. I hate to see him suffer! MS is one of the meanest diseases around, because it slowly, but surely is a killer.

Diseases are curable.
Syndromes are not curacle.
AIDS is Aquired Immune Difficency Syndrome!
Fibromyalgia is a syndrome. I have FM and that's how I learned the difference between diseases and syndromes.
