my hair is dark brown, straight, and silky and is currently cut into choppy layers with the shortest at two inches below my chin and the longest at two inches below my shoulders. i have a round face and part my hair to the side with the part off-center. i'm thinking of getting bangs but i'm not sure if i should. what kind of bangs (if any) should i get?

I would recommend a long bang that could be parted and swept across your forehead. I would cut them to reach below the tip of your nose but shorter than your top lip then sweep them to the side with your regular part. I wouldn't cut a regular bang across your forehead because if your face is round it will make your face shorter. The side part is great for you and the bangs will help to make your face less round. Go for it!

i think you should go for it. it's just hair, it'll grow back =) a couple years back i wanted to try bangs and i got the kind where it was just straight across. i loooved it. i still have it now, it's not straight across, but layered. if you end up not liking yours you could always buy a cute clip and clip up your bangs until they get longer.

i say you shouldn't.

i completely regret getting my swept bangs. miss my hair!!! i say don't. it's not worth the risk, and if you really want to have a tiny bit of change at least, ask for some LONG one length bangs so that you can put them out when your hairs in a ponytail, but also pull them back without TONS of bobby pins.

have fun! :-)

...I don't think so, I just had bangs (longer ones though) cut and wish I could reverse the hands of time...I want my hairs back...if you got something good going on now then leave it...

well... basically, if you get short bangs, your face will look wider.
and if you get longer bangs, maybe sideswept ones, your face will look... normal?

talk to a stylist about it for the best feedback on how this new style will look on you [=

it depends on how big your forehead is. go to a stylist and ask her how you would look. if you cant, then pin your hair to your forehead and experiment. go to clairol.com for more tips
