The Dr. said all the wax was out and recommended the oil as a preventive. My guess is that there is also a build-up of negative pressure or fluid behind your eardrum, which may or may not be infected. Go back to the Doctor, and if they can't resolve the problem, ask for a referral to an otologist (ear specialist).

Request that a hearing test be done as part of the examination, because it will help determine the extent and nature of the hearing loss, especially if it includes a tympanogram, which is a test that measures the eardrum's ability to respond to sound vibrations and will determine whether there is fluid or pressure in the middle ear space.

try rubbing alcohol.....it is usually used to get water out of your ear but the alcohol will actually break down the wax too....don't over do it though, just take a cotton bowl and dose it with the alcohol then squeeze it into your ear. take the little lope on the bottom of your ear and push it in and out. If the ringing doesnt stop its ok because its just the blood settling in and around your ear drum....it will go away in a little while.....good luck

Instead of olive oil try sweet oil. Whatever you do don't put anything in your ears such as Q-Tips, that will only push the wax deeper into your ear canal.

Just man up and go to your doctor or to an ear/nose/throat guy, they will be able to go fairly deep in and pull out all of the wax. The worst thing to do is use Qtips because it pushes the inner wax further in and will only make your hearing worse. My grandma always said don't stick anything in your ears but your elbows....

Turn your head sideways and pour a cap-full of hydrogen peroxide in your ear, let it bubble for a few moments then cover your ear with tissue (so it doesn't drip everywhere) and turn you head to the other side

Go to a spa or some sort of holistic shop that offers "ear candling"...

They are specially made candles that, when lit, will create a suction in your ear and draw the ear wax up and out of your ear.

They worked WONDERS for my grandma who used to ALWAYS get loads of wax to the poitn of hearing impairment.

Mineral oil dissolves earwax and hydrogen peroxide boils it away, but it sure is loud!

Maybe use Q-tips to clean them out?
