How profound. As a child I loved Aesop's Fables, and the collected fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. I was also raised Christian.
I'll quote whatever is neccessary to explain a point... I'm far more likely to quote the Bible to another Christian, and get really annoyed when I see things like car stickers that say, "God is Great" with a Bible reference. What a waste. But finding things that Jesus said and using them against people who are using something from the Bible to promote their "Holier-than-thou" attitude? Great.
Jesus spoke in parables and riddles that would make sense to the people he was with- their cultural understandings would see them through. But a lot of my friends would think "The Good Samaritan" was a second hand store, when he was a social outcast who actually took pity on someone he should never be seen with. And we forget this and try and make sense of things to suit ourselves, leaving out both important historical social and cultural understandings, but other parts of the Bible that clarify or contradict seemingly unclear/strange statements.
As for your verse:
Some people enjoy deception. As a game, it is safe and fun. But when it becomes a way of life, one will not only lose their sense of self, but isolate themselves from those they care about.
How did I do?

Quoting the Bible is sort of like quoting the text book. It shows where the information on a given topic is written. It kind of says to the reader-"If you don't want to take my word for it, look it up in the Bible. It's found in (fill in chapter and verse") People give definitions by saying something like "Websters Dictionary defines (insert word) as (insert definition)" It's just for clarity and better understanding. Quoting the Bible is about the same thing.

YES, the Word of God has attractive, creative and transformative powers. It does not change only the heart of man, it also civilizes people in many generations.
4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
(King James Bible, Luke)
It hath been decreed by Us that the Word of God and all the potentialities thereof shall be manifested unto men in strict conformity with such conditions as have been foreordained by Him Who is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. We have, moreover, ordained that its veil of concealment be none other except its own Self. Such indeed is Our Power to achieve Our Purpose. Should the Word be allowed 77 to release suddenly all the energies latent within it, no man could sustain the weight of so mighty a Revelation. Nay, all that is in heaven and on earth would flee in consternation before it.
(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 76)

It dose nothing for me in order for a quote to change my mind or ANYONE elses that person must believe it. Christians use it as there cruch thinking that when people dont believe they can quote the thing that makes them believe I guess in the short of it they dont understand that is we do not believe in God then we do NOT believe in the book they are quoting other than that it is a book like any other wrote by some guy or a few guys whatever ....

Atheists know the bible better? LOL ya right! *snicker* That don't even make sense.
You atheists ask "why do christians..." or "Prove that the Bible says ...." so they post verse to support what they believe and then the atheists get pissy about us using the Bible to support our views. Make up your minds please.
Posting Curious George is a childs story. It doesn't have fulfilled prophecy and certainly isn't said to be a guide for life. Pride goeth before the fall. Your point is silly.

Please notice that they always quote verses from Paul or Peter or other Early Church leaders. Who is it that they never seem to quote? They are suppose to be Christians (followers of Jesus).
But they never seem to quote Jesus himself. There are hundreds of direct quotes from Jesus in the Bible, yet they simply quote Paul and Peter who tell them, in effect, they will get the winning lottery ticket if they scream Jesus name, and things written about Jesus by other authors in the Bible.
In 1611, when the Bible was translated into English, the church leaders corrupted several verses for the benefit of Church Empires. Most of those corrupted verses are found in the writings of Paul, and Peter, and in the book of Leviticus. And, those are the Bible verses you and I hear quoted the most on this chat group. "Forgive them for they know not what they are talking about"

The Word of God does bring change in many people, in some it may harden their heart even more than it already is. The message you wrote is foolishness, compared to the wisdom of the Bible. You can't compare childish gibberish to wisdom of the Creator of the universe. For example. "Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold." And I disagree with you about atheists knowing the Bible better than Christians. They take things out of context and lack the understanding from the Holy Spirit. Your message meant nothing to me. Perhaps for my 2 yr old granddaughter.

A monkey is said to be primitive (Not sure if they would agree or not) but at any rate, people who believe the bible is written via whispers from god should stock up on bananas.
