The way my fiance proposed to me was so romantic because it was a surprise, and because it was so US!
We love to go to the movies together, because we are both huge movie buffs. One night he took me to see 'Click' with Adam Sandler, one of our favourite actors. We were in the senstadium (largest) cinema, at a very busy session. Of course I just thought we were having a regular night out. But after the previews and ads at the beginning, the house lights went back on. Then, the huge screen went pink and the words "And Now its Time for a Special Message...." came on. I started to think something was up, especially because I saw my finace's brother, who works at the movies, come in and stand in the aisle.
Then the screen said "Lisa, you are the love of my life, Will you Marry Me?" My fiance then got down on his knee, told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, pulled out a Tiffany Diamond ring, and asked me to marry him!
I just started bawling my eyes out! Then of course I said yes, he put the ring on my finger, and we kissed! Everyone in the movie theatre applauded. It was the best night of my life, I felt so special and happy!
We are getting married in Thailand in December!

It was December of 2005 and he was in Iraq.He called me one day and said I was getting a ring in the mail so I asked what for.He said, "we're getting married when I get home." Not overly romantic but what do you expect from a marine in a combat zone? He actually got down on one knee and proposed "right" about a week before the wedding, after he finally made it back to the states.

We used to live in Alabama and its kind of a funny story. My hubby and I began dating Jan of 2005. We moved into a house together Feb 2005 (yes I know quick). He began to talk about getting married. He wanted me to start preparing things but then he would say never mind wait until you have a ring. Well the day he was supposed to speak to our pastor he kept insisting that we go to the beach. This was March and he wanted to get married in June. The whole time he kept telling me not to plan until I had a ring but he had already told everyone the date. Needless to say I was freaking out not much time to plan and nothing had been bought yet. That evening right at sunset we were at the beach had found a secluded area and were sitting on a log he got up walked behind me and began to rub my shoulders. I was so pissed because I knew we were not going to have time to plan and had been arguing about it all afternoon. All of a sudden he walked in front of me got on his knee and pulled out the ring and proposed right as the sun was setting over the water. I was amazed and cried like a baby. His family was in on the whole thing and I had no idea !!!! We did get married June 11 of 2005 and although many people thought we went to fast we are going on our second year together. To end the story we also got married during the first tropical storm of the season Tropical Storm Arlean was our guest of honor and she didnt slow us down a bit. Thank you for your question it brough back great memories and I would do it all over again.

He took me to a restaurant. It was VERY romantic. He was so nervous that he wasn't talking at all so I was talking the WHOLE time. About everything that had happened that day. Talking, not eating, so I finally (after at least 45 minutes) said that I was done talking and it was his turn. He said, "So, how was your day?" I got a bit upset...wasn't he listening? The waitress came and asked how everything was, he said he was all set. I couldn't be eating while he wasn't, so said I was done, too. She asked if we wanted dessert, he said to give us a few minutes. (I was thinking, "I'm starving and you're sending the food away AND telling her not to come back?!?!?") He got up, got down on one knee, and asked. I cried, he cried. Everyone was like, "Look over there, he's proposing!" and "Oh, they're getting engaged"
After that, I couldn't wait to get the heck out there...I had people to see, a ring to show!

We had really bad weather and I almost got into several wrecks coming home from work. Once I was home, my fiance and I were sitting down, talking about work, and I was complaining about the drive home. During the conversation, I sat down on his lap...nothing usual there...and we kept talking and he just kinda blurted it out. I asked him if he was serious, and he said yes, I started to cry. He grabbed his phone to call a jeweler friend of ours to pick out a ring and I had to convince him to wait until the next day when the roads were better. It was great that it was so spontaneous and also half-way planned. That way we got to design the ring together.

My husband and had been dating for 11 mon when he popped the question. After he asked I found out he had the ring for 5 mon waitng for the perfect moment to ask me. While I was at work on day he came over to my house and brought candles and roses and made homemade spaghetti! I'd been having a very hard week and figured he was just trying to cheer me up. When he finished eating he pointed out something funny the cat was doing behind me so I turned and looked. I went back to finishing eating and got up and walk to the sink behind me. Then he called my name and as I turned, with spaghetti in my mouth, I say him on one knee holding the ring out to me. I was so shocked and cried. We ad just had a little squabble the night before because our couple friends we hung out with all the time got engaged after just a couple a months. But he said he'd already had it planned what he was going to do and tried so hard not to laugh during my moment of jelousy as he put it.

we were at the local renaissance faire, and it was crowded as heck!! so we were trying to find a place to sit down, and we found one at the edge of a duck pond on the grounds and sat down under a tree. then he looked me in the eyes, recited a poem he'd written for it and asked me to marry him....i was speechless!! and it was romantic.. assuming you ignored all the other people that were there (whichi we did) to make it all better, he saved the petals from a couple roses he'd bought me that day, worte the poem out and frmaed it with the rose petals!! he's a true knight in shining armour!! ^-^

We were camping up at Mackinaw and my fiance told me he had the day planned out for Saturday. We went for a drive in the UP and in St. Ignace he had hired a plane to fly us to Mackinac Island. From there he had a horse and carriage pick us up and take us for a drive. We went to Fort Holmes wondered around there looking at the view. on our way down the steps in the woods and he had me turn around and put the ring on my finger.
