anyway he seems really distant and when I say I miss you really bad he seems to be only half listening and seems really distracted, I am wondering why he seems like he dosent miss me as much as I miss him, He will be gone for 2 weeks at a time when he gets started, I am a little worried should I be?

A little thing the recruiter probably failed to mention is a term called forced dispatch. As far as being distracted he might be running teams while he is training and don't want to sound all mushy in front of the other guy. Or it could be he isn't to well adjusted to the big rigs yet and is very nervous. Tell him to get a LTL job peddling freight. He will make more money and be home everynight/day. He will start out with shitty hours like starting at 2pm and coming home at midnight or if he runs linehaul at night he will start at 7-8pm and be home around 7-10am then next morning. Unless you own the truck you won't make that great of money. You can make good money you will just be gone weeks at a time. What kind of life is that?

Two weeks ? try four to eight.
Staring at those lines going by does mess with your mind.
