I thought it was a good thing but my friends told me it was awful.

It's not bad at all. Your friends are not in your relationship and can't determine what's right or wrong in it.

Look at married couples that have saved it for their wedding night.
Is it bad that they waited? No. In fact it makes them that much closer because they experienced it for the first time together.

If you plan on being with him for a really long time, I think it's great... me and my b/f lost it to each other and we're going strong 5 years later... why would it be a bad thing?

Its not awful... your friends are stupid. But you will probably wonder one day what it will be like to be with someone else... its all part of being young and growing up though. Be careful.

it's called life experience, it's not bad or good, it's just an experience..Your friends have their heads in the sand (and I'm not referring to just the sex, I mean in to life in general).

If your friends are being PIA's about the issue, then maybe look at getting new friends, they obviously dont have the same outlook on life you do.

Your friends do not know what they are talking about. Just be sure you use appropriate protection.
