Allright, now I'm ticked off. I'm a protestant, and it's Catholics like you that really burn my whiskers! "Are protestants really Christains?" I'll tell you, me and every other Christian, protestant or not, that are outraged by your comment, are more pious Christians than you are. A Christians respects the religions of others and doesn't put down or generalize members of a faith. And for your information, the borders of modern day Israel are pretty close to that of the Israel around 0 C.E. Lebbanon is pretty close geographically to the state of Tyre. So you pretty much don't know what your talking about.
And by the way, just about everyone knows that Israel was reconstituted in 1948 nowadays. You really need to broaden your view of the world, not be so narrow minded. Make a protestant friend, learn about their faith. I'd be glad to talk to you about mine.

Who says we do? The nation of Israel Is really none of our business.
And I am a Catholic, so does your 'Are the protestants really christians ? I doubt it' apply to me? Anyway, of course Protestants are Christians.
Whether or not any of us - Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox - believe that the currently existing nation of Israel is the Israel from the Bible (generally) has nothing to do with our religion, how we live our lives, or our salvation. So your statement about doubting whether protestants are really Christians has nothing to do with the question in your question title about Israel (which could apply to any Christian group, Protestant or otherwise). Terminology, man.

I don't know if the bible directly names this new Israel, but it does refer to it when it says " from the restoration of Israel till the destruction of Jerusalem is 72 years". And of course Israel WAS restored to a nation in 1948. I believe that is the neo-Israel they are refering to. If they believe in Christ and His death on the cross then they are Christians. If not then they ain't. YOU GO ASKETT!!

Many Catholics feel that Israel is now a reality. Maybe there is some kind of mistaken belief amongst Protestants that 'Israel' in some way refers to the Israelites as a chosen people of God. A notion Christ dissolves when He renders all equal by His fulfillment. Jerusalem is where the Son of God was lifted up to die for our sins. It is where He rose again in glory.

Because we read the bible, and we can actually read, unlike the one asking this stupid question, the bible times the day, month,& year, exactly May 15, 1948 from way back in the old testament to revelations. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not die, but have everlasting life. my friend that is blessed assurance, for me a protestant, get right repent and it would be yours to!!

*For the same reason they believe the tribulation has yet to happen. They do not understand the bible when it says something is shortly to come to pass as Revelation claims, they do not knopw the persecution of Christians by pagans in the second and third century was the great tribulation. They also beleive we have just entered the last days when the bible itself says we were in the last days during the writing of the bible.*
