...Before I show you anything, sir, you need to understand that the Bible is one, cohesive whole - God's word is all 66 books, wonderfully preserved by the Lord, and it is the guidebook for the Christian, and the only authority for life and practice.
************************************************************
...In Luke 24:44-47, we read these words:
...44 Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
...45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
...46 and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,
...47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
************************************************************
...Matthew 16:21 says this:
...From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.

......If you do more study, you will find in that the rest of the Bible, in the epistles and the book of Acts, are full of references that speak of Jesus coming to earth to pay for our sins with His own blood, that He died, was buried, and that He was raised on the 3rd day, according to the Scriptures.
...The Old Testament has many prophecies that Jesus fulfilled also.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Jesus did not take a pen and write His own words. The apostles wrote the gospels and speak of the life and death of Christ. They were there with Him. Jesus did not hide from the Jews, He was often in the temples and dined with the Pharisees. In the gospels when His life is nearing its end He turned His face toward Jerusalem and entered that city with much fanfare.
