I currently have a sore throat as well :(. Warm liquids do help, like chicken noodle soup or hot chocolate or tea, but only really for the time you are drinking it. Things like cepahol and other stuff, tries to numb your throat but a spray bottle is better than a candy-like tablet because that will only numb your mouth and tongue area as it is hard to actually keep the candy-like tablet in the back of your throat where the pain is w/o choking on it. Gargling with salt water helps and you can do it as much as you want, it also kills some bacteria. Vitamin c can also help, so orange juice is good. Honey and tea if you like it. I find sleeping is good cuz my throat is not bothering me when i can't feel it! Also, not doing as much as possible is good because you're not taking energy away from the cells and whatnot trying to fight off the bacteria you probably have. Hope all this helps and hope your sore throat doesn't last long, toodleloo

I had a sore throat for a week. Last night I read online this remedy and I woke up this morning pain free!! For one thing, I ate many fruits and veggies yesterday, drank lots of water. I took extra Juice Plus (which is fruit and veggies in a capsule!). Then before I went to bed I took the following paste mixture: 2 Tbs of turmeric with enough honey to make it paste-like--ate the whole thing, despite not liking the taste!

sure you can. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

depends on the cause of the sore throat...
viral: plenty of clear liquids, throat lozenges and it will go away
upper resp infection (post nasal drip): take benadryl to dry up the drippy throat and do throat lozenges (use the ones with benzocaine -- more effective)
bacterial: need antibiotics (usually strep and you need penicillin or similar) to treat it...
good luck

Try Cepacol. It's over-the-counter and numbs your throat so it can heal.
