It could be as simple as a cheap replacement alternator - I've seen instances where people just kept buying them until they got a good one. Try a better brand.

Internal or external voltage regulator? What exactly is going out? The electronics or the bearings or what? Could just be dumb luck combined with a crappy remanufacturing job on the replacement. Here's some ideas anyway:

Does the engine run at 3000+ RPM consistently? The problem could be overspinning the rotor and could be corrected with a larger pulley.

Check that voltage regulator.

Battery? If your battery isn't taking a full charge, the alternator could be running all the time and burning up.

Make sure you're getting a good quality replacement, or at least something with a lifetime warranty in the future ;)

i own a repair shop, and you don't have a good main ground from the engine to the body ,and the frame ,it will keep burning them out, this is what causes this to happen, there's supposed to be one ground from the battery to the engine and one to the frame and one to the engine from the body,if any of these get loose or broken ,it will continue to make them go out like this,i have ran across this problem a lot ,mostly from vehicle s that have had the engine changed in them, and people forget to hook them back up.but that's whats causing this, now if you can just find it,good luck i hope this help,s.
