how to stop the gums (hole) from bleeding?

Leave it alone, it will stop bleeding in a couple of days. It needs to clot first. Do not put gauze back in, or rinse out your mouth very hard, or you will wash out the clot, and it will bleed more. Sometimes an extraction can bleed for 5 or 6 days. It should be lessening each day, though. If it is still a lot of blood, go back to the dentist, they can put a couple of stitches in if neccessary.

Pack it with damp gauze and bite down on it. If you put dry gauze in there it will stop bleeding but the clot will attach to the gauze and as soon as you take the gauze out the clot will come away with it and it will bleed again. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out last year and one of them kept oozing for about a week. Try not to rinse your mouth out either as that will dislodge any clots that are forming in the hole so it will keep bleeding. If you take painkillers dont take any aspirin or any products containing aspirin as they will prevent clotting. Dont put cold packs on the area because as soon as it heats up after you take it off the bleeding will start more. If it doesnt get less in a few days go back and see the dentist. That was all the advice my dental surgeon gave me and it worked.

It's a nasty ordeal no matter how you look at it. If the dentist used the typical method of using hydrogen peroxide to sanitize the area, that only kills about 30% of the germs. If he used a dental laser they that kills about 99.999% of the germs. Washing with salt water helps, but will not kill germs very well. I suggest you do some "Oil Pulling." Get some coconut oil and take a tablespoon of that and put it in your mouth and swish it around for about 2 to 3 minutes. Then spit it out, don't swallow it. Coconut oil is loaded with Caprilic acid and capric acid that kill fungus, bacteria, viruses, etc. Your mouth will feel more refreshed and you can do that several times a day to help sanitize it really well. Avoid mouth washes because that dries out the tissues and is harmful to the body. The next thing you need to do is prevent NICO from happening in your jaw bone. You need to focus on getting lots of good minerals into your body. I would see a certified nutritional therapist that can help you with how to do that and to verify the area is clear of germs. good luck to you

you might have sucked out your clot, and you might get "dry-socket" an incredibly painful complication.

Call your dentist ASAP...in the meantime, hold gauze on top of hole...DO NOT PACK INSIDE THE HOLE

its good if it is, you will not get a dry socket, but if it bleeds to much for to long call the dentist, rinse with luke warm salt water you should be ok.

I had the same. I rinsed my mouth out with salt water. It stayed open for about a week. Sometimes it does this if you have a infection in it and pus needs to come away.

you need to go back to the dentist and get them to repack it....you can try some gauze rolled up, and bitting GENTLY. You may end up with a dry socket, and they suck!
