I am a believer in God. I have experienced certain things in my life that causes me to be a believer. I guess the only answer to your question is in my opinion is that deep down inside every one believes in some higher power other then them self and want to make that even more plain by saying something about there being no God on religious questions or answers. There should be no reason to argue about something a person does not believe in. Look around you and you can see the evidence of God. You have an open mind and yes when we die the first thing we see is God. We also have a great big wonderful world where some things are hard to understand yet can be so magical so keep an open mind and you will learn many things that you will be amazed at. You did a good job asking this question.

The father (spiritual) of the atheist is the devil. He has no new tricks, just been using the same tactics as he always has. If atheists really believe that there is no God and that this is the only life they get, why spend so much time bothering those who do? The answer is because they hate Jesus and those who follow Him. I don't see a ton of atheists bothering Muslims, Mormons, or Hindu's. Why bother Christians? Because Christ is real and the devil wishes to thwart Him any way he can.
The atheist will say that Christian's push their views, as if it is only righteous for the atheist and others to have a view or to have their set of moral values in society.
Would society be so bad if people would stop lying, committing adultery, fornicating, lusting, coveting, murdering, stealing, and disrespecting their parents and other authority. Seriously is that such a bad view?
Let's just take one sin... that of fornication (pre-marital relations). If people did not engage in sex outside of marriage then we wouldn't have teen pregnancy. Abortion #s would be down, and we wouldn't have as many split families. Oh my, I just realized that the atheist is right, why should we Christians push our views on others... this is a horrible thing, we should allow society to continue to drown itself in sin and the consequences there of.

Atheism is a legitimate religious position, I don't see a problem. I doubt many atheists are in deep resistance to some inner mandate that there is a god. People's religious leanings are based primarily off their own experiences and upbringings. Personally I am a Christian, however I do not feel one can bring others to God by beating them half to death with the holy book or berating them endlessly in God's name. A lot of the complaints that atheists have of religious people are the same ones I have, sheeplike adherence to dogma, denial of scientific and historical fact, fantaticism, intolerance...unfortunately religious people have, through their own actions, largely been responsible for turning atheists against them all by themselves. This very question is an example of how religious people belittle the value systems and contributions of atheists.

1. The burden of proof in not with Christians. Christians are in a section of YA that state, "Religion and Spirituality". So ♥Someone♥ questions does have merit.
I would agree with you if this question was posted elsewhere.
2. You quote Richard Dawkins? The tone of his book is strident, the content of the book is bracing, and the attitude of the book is condescending.
Reading this crap makes me informed and educated on what? You can't be serious... can you?
Brother, believe what you will. I don't care, Stand fast in your liberty, I plan to in mine. Again, if I was in another section, you would have a point, but not here.

Atheists are NOT trying to convince themselves there is not God, they BELIEVE there is no God!
I ONLY belittle the Christians who KNOW for a FACT there is a God!
Blind ignorance is NO recommendation for any faith or belief!

For me, welcome them here. This, believe it or not, is a way of spreading the gospel to them. Let them stay and do not be rude to them. Would you consider learning about a God that his followers are hateful and rude or a God that his followers are welcoming and loving? Jesus was criticized for sitting with the tax collectors and eating (considered to be evil and bad people in those days, the worst of the worst). Now if Jesus sat with those considered the worst, who are we that we would not talk to those who just do not know?
As for me, I know there is God and I believe and follow and love him before my last breath.

I'm an atheist, and I have to admit people do go too far sometimes. My guess is some of these atheists are teenagers with nothing better to do. I apologize for those types.
Maybe we need an atheist section.

I wonder how it is that they answer questions concerning God or religion when they don't even believe. You'd think that they would have no interest in the beliefs of others.
