prepare nail polish/tooth to that part of dermis and splinter, yet no longer the the remainder of the nail. Use adequate to hide the top of the finger, and positioned something like a toothpick in it sideways so which you will choose someting to tug with as quickly because it is all dry. If the tooth does get on the nail, crack that unfastened first, then yank all of it off. If it does not pop out, it is going to a minimum of soften the tissue adequate to help once you dig back, which could be much less painful with quite some Anbesol. And if no longer something works, basically armor it with greater tooth and look ahead to it to depart on it is very own.

How big and how far in is the splinter? If it's sticking out a little bit, you might want to make sure it doesnt bump anything till your next visit to the doctor. You could try pulling it out with tweezers but things could get ugly doing that. I suggest waiting and go to the doctor as soon as possible.

You may have to go back. If it's like usual, you can probably trim the nail back far enough to get to the end of the splinter, but it's also a good bet you don't have any tweezers with a fine enough tip to grab it. Or it may fester and push itself out.

Get a sewing needle, sterilize it in alcohol or in a flame, use the eye end, not the sharp end, and try carefully to work it out. Or, you can soak your hand in warm water repeatedly, it will swell up to where you can get it after a few times.

Sometimes if you do enough dishes it will come out.....but if it has been two weeks, you had better go to the doctor.
