I can only express my opinion, from my point of view. I have been deer/elk hunting the same, very large cattle ranch in southeastern Montana for over 20 years. The owner of said ranch runs literally thousands of cattle per year. He has me come out and exterminate a few "naturally occuring" creatures that ruin or at least erode the cattles' home turf. These include coyotes, porcupines, ground squirrels and yes the soft and fuzzy bunny rabbit. The rabbits dig "dens," the cattle step in dens and break a leg. The owner then must "put down" the cattle at a cost of some $2000 per head. Last year alone, he put down 18 lame cattle from what he deduced was "rabbit den dancing." Some folks eat them, but I hunt them to appease the ranch owner so I can continue to hunt with my 2 sons and feed my hunter's spirit and my family. I hope this helps you to understand a different point of view. To this particular rancher, live rabbits are a detriment to his business, just as if an embezzler were stealing from a big-city corporation. In their minds, this just cannot be tolerated.

Wild rabbits aren't Thumper. They are good to eat, fun to hunt. We'll never run out of rabbits. 1 mature female rabbit can have hundreds of babies and 1 mature male can have hundreds of matings. They are farmer's nightmares.

Sep 1 thru Feb 28th in my home state, sunrise to sunset. Let me know where you live and I'll check to see if you still have time to go out and bag some.

p.s. I don't have a lot of respect for an animal that will eat its own young. Somehow Disney forgot to portray that.

You poor little thing. If somebody long ago hadn't shot rabbits, deer, ducks, and turkeys, among other animals, to keep themselves and their families fed, including YOUR OWN pioneer ancestors, YOU WOULDN'T EVEN BE HERE!
I'll bet you're one of these little bleeding-heart PETA freaks that think the meat you buy in the grocery stores is GROWN THAT WAY, all precut and prepackaged, ready to be cooked up fo' the lil' chilluns.

When you're hungry. Is it wrong for a wolf to eat a rabbit? Why should people be any different.

any day of the damn week, PETA sucks and so do rabbits, we shoot rabbits back home 365 days a year for the hell of it, if anyone disagrees with hunting I'll go kill 100 more of something for you.
