The Bible focuses on our sins and forgiveness, is that what turns people against the Christian preaching of repentance? Other religions such as paganism, wicca, or eastern religions don't focus on sin, is that why those religions are more acceptable?

your thoughts.

Of course!!

Satan wants to divert as many people as he can and Religion is one of his favourite ways to do so and that includes the false "christian" religions in liberal churches that don't tell people the TRUTH about eternity and their NEED for salvation because of their fallen condition, spiritual death, as well as the lies of sec-ular humanism or scientology, hollywood's religion of choice....

ANY religion that does NOT center on the BLOOD of the LAMB -- Y'shua - and man's need to be saved and made righteous before
God - is fine by satan and he will be laughing his stupid head off as people die unsaved, believing his lies, and split hell wide open for all eternity....

This world - satan's kingdom - is the Titanic --
Christians will lead you to the only Lifeboat - Y'shua - because we don't want to see anyone perish forever.
Satan and his followers will tell you there is no iceburg, just keep on partying until you sink into the ocean because you don't NEED
that Lifeboat - you can save yourself - even when he knows the truth -- but he wants to go on keeping you in the dark until you die and leave this world forever -- and then it's too late!! :-(
Which do you want!!! It's YOUR choice!!!
Your responsibility.

We're telling you (whoever) the TRUTH because we care...What
is the world telling you....

Jesus said in the third chapter of John -- that the Light has come into the world and men HATE the LIGHT because their deeds are
evil.....

The world thinks that we're JUDGING them and that we're all so INTOLERANT....well, do they want to wait and find out what REAL
judgment will be when they die, rejecting Jesus as their only hope
for salvation.
Christians can not FORCE anything on anyone. We are just try-ing to tell people the TRUTH, to get them to think about the reality
of ETERNITY and what will happen to them without Jesus.

If someone doesn't want to hear it, that is their choice...and their responsibility when they come to stand before God one day....

Are doctors being INTOLERANT or JUDGMENTAL when they tell
someone to stop smoking when they could get lung cancer and heart disease,......

God does not want ANYONE to perish and the Holy Spirit is in the
earth, imploring the LOST through Christians, who have been lost
and now are saved by the GRACE AND MERCY of GOD through
the precious BLOOD of the LAMB, to be reconciled to God through His Son.

Read II Cor. 5:2O.

Look at the people of Noah's day. Noah implored them to repent and turn to God before they perished in the flood, but NONE of them did - Only Noah and his family were saved. 8 people.

Most people in the world, past, present, and future will REJECT the mercy and love of God and go into a hopeless eternity in hell.
Unbelievable but true. and very, very sad......

Matt. 7:13.14. Jesus speaks to this very truth.

Most people will choose what they consider the easy way, the "acceptable" and "popular:" way, instead of seeking the ONLY
One Who can save them forever...They just have to ask. . . .

Actually other religions, wicca and paganism especially, aren't nearly as accepted as Christianity. I am not an Atheist although I will not state my religious preference here as to not be assumed to be biased, but the main reason that some people are annoyed by Christians is that some Christians tend to preach their religion way too often. (and not only too often. Sometimes in rude ways or at the inappropriate time or place as well.) I understand that the Bible encourages God's children to spread his word, but there are certain ways that a person should and should not go about it. For one thing, a Christian should feel free to speak to someone about their religion if the person has inquired about it, has mentioned their religion, or is having problems in their lives that said Christian feels could be helped by listening to, surrendering to, and living by God's word. It should not be brought up out of the blue. I was in a pet store looking at rabbits and a random lady walked up to me and asked me if I had found God. No joke. It was kind of awkward. It also shouldn't be approached in an attacking manner either. What I mean by that is that if a Christian wants to tell someone about their religion, they should state what it is in basic terms, how it can improve and enrich a person's life, etc. Again, some (not by any means all, but some) Christians state what religion they belong to, and then go into what will happen if a person isn't saved or even, as I have witnessed before, insults the validity of the other person's religion right off the bat. That automatically puts someone on the defensive and isn't the best way to lead into that type of conversation. Discuss the positives first, not the negatives. The point is, some Christians choose to take nearly every minute trying to preach and spread their religion, and you have to understand how to someone who either isn't religious or belongs to another religion this can be annoying at times.

Perhaps you've never looked into history and what people have done in the name of God? Christians, throughout history, have been the bullies - of course this says nothing about the Bible, the Christian God or Jesus. It's simply the people that give Christianity a bad name. They act very contradictory to what Jesus taught.

It's not the religion people are against, it's Jesus' fan club people don't like. One of the very basic reasons why Christians are looked down upon is because most of them don't practice religious tolerance - and this is why Paganism and most Eastern Religions are more accepted. It's because they're accepting. Kind of like, you get what you give ... karma.

The reason I left Christianity was due to questions. I began asking questions. The answers I was given I either knew to be wrong (one of those deep in my heart things) or weren't answers to the question I had asked. The main reason for the latter was the fact that that answer would be different for every person, and even change for a person from day to day. Christianity has a hard time dealing with situations where there is not one concrete answer. Most pagan belief systems I've looked at view humans as unique individuals, and therefore realize that one answer rarely works. Another reason for annoyance is the complete inability of most Christians to accept the fact that they might not be the only ones with the truth, which leads them to label everyong else as the enemy.

I'm not annoyed by all Christians, just the ones that try to force their religion down my throat. I'd be willing to listen to stories about god, even though I don't believe, because I'm fascinated by cultures other than my own. But whe someone tries to make me agree with everything they say, I get a little frustrated.

And in my opinion, what makes Eastern religions and Paganism acceptable is that they are more tolerant in practice than Christianity. I know that in theory, Christians love everyone, but it seems like so few of them do these days that people tend to shy away from them.

People are always turned off by others pushing some ideal. It's one thing to discuss, in a friendly manner, any subject. It's a whole different manner when people are pushing something. It doesn't matter if they are talking you going to hell, or you are going to get fat eating those donuts every morning at the office.

People want acceptance, not abuse. If you can't talk about something without being pushy, while also accepting the other person's beliefs, then don't talk about it. I enjoy converse with people and sharing different ideals. If it appears to be a sensitive topic, I ask if it bothers them. If it does, I change lanes.

The message of the Bible is returning to our Heavenly Father thru the Atonement of Christ. Non-Christian religions talk more about meditation and being in touch with ourselves. I'm a Christian. But, if you don't want to believe, this is America, and you have that freedom. If you want to discuss it in a friendly manner, I enjoy learning.

I'm a christian but I think there are annoying christians out there. I feel that you should talk and teach people about God and not cram it down others throats. Casually bringing up God in a conversation and see how the other person reacts and then go from there. Don't preach sin and hell, preach God's love goodness.

People are annoyed by Christians because Christians are annoying. They are a self righteous group who think that they have the right to inflict their morals and beliefs on anyone and everyone. They are pushy with their beliefs and insult people on a continual basis for saying that you are going to hell if you do not kiss their God's butt. Other religions keep to themselves and are not trying to push their morals and beliefs down everyones throats. Basically Christians just come across as ignorant pushy people who make stuff up to justify their beliefs. When you question a flaw in their religion, there are some standard answers that come up, "all part of God's will", "we don't know God's plan", "God just miracled it", and that list of vague points can go on and on, never answering a question, just making a cop out.

I have friends of all denominations. The ones I love the most are the ones who respect the fact that I am a Buddhist, do not share their ideas on religion, and never will. They are the ones who say to me that I am loved and worthy even if I do not follow their religion. They are the ones I embrace and call friend because they are not going to judge me because I am "different." I had other "friends" who became my "friend" for the purpose of expanding their churches. I didn't keep them around long, not because they reminded me that I'm a "sinner." (I know when I do good and when I do bad. I don't need them to remind me and it doesn't make me feel bad) When I told them I wouldn't go to their church, I found myself suddenly out in the cold, disinvited to game nights and dances, and ostracized at the office. That's what annoys me more than anything. We all have to live together. We can't do that if we are fostering coldness and bitterness in the name of "God."

Because of the way Christianity was brought about. Many of the high powered societies turned to it, and accepted it, forcing their people to do so, also. It was forced upon most people, believe in god, or die. That's how it went, for years and centuries. There are still people today, who try to force it upon us. While I know that not every christian is like that, and there are many who are very open minded, and accepting of anyone, there are just so many others who are the exact opposite.

I believe in freedom of religion. I support gay marriage, I support sex before marriage, and I support many other things that Christians are bashing the country and anyone who doesn't support their cause. If God is so accepting, and forgiving, why does he make it so hard for others to be forgiven, and accepted by todays society? If god didn't support gay marriage, then why did he 'make' gay people? If he didn't support sex before marriage, why do we all go through puberty, and the changes that make us ready for sex? (True, that back in the day, 14 year olds probably were married and had 2 kids, but it's different now.)

I don't bash christians, and I'm not always annoyed by them. But I am annoyed by many of the things that do not have any evidence to support them. And I am annoyed by people who will not accept you, just because you're not christian.

MOST Christians are just fine. The thing that annoys most non-Christians is the way some Christians constantly try to force their beliefs down other people's throats. People don't appreciate being told they deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity--not because of anything they've DONE, but simply because they don't BELIEVE the same things they do.
