It takes faith to believe in atheism. therefore it is religion. Most of them arrived at their belief by educated debate and reason, tho some just because they hate organized religion. i treat them like any other person of faith...that is to talk about something else other than their beliefs.

Religion is defined as: "a set of attitudes, beliefs, and practices pertaining to supernatural power." So no, atheism, by definition, is not a religion.
I honestly have no idea where this argument came from. I've it heard used several times before, and each time it makes me say this: what?
Atheism is no more a religion than science, or more religious than people who deny the existence of the Easter Bunny. Get over it.

Atheists aren't 'against religion' they are just against God.
And saying atheism has become a religion is like saying liking Coca Cola is a religion. Just because there is a group of people who have the same opinion/belief doesn't make it a religion.
Although in some cases it does, this isn't one of them.

Ummmm...no. Only religious people think that way, because they can't understand the concept of NOT having religion. Not believing isn't an issue to atheists. They don't go around thinking about how they DON'T believe in God all day. Christians spend more time thinking about atheists' beliefs than atheists do.

No, atheism is an same element it is continually been: having no concept in deity. that is the in trouble-free words imagine all atheists have in worry-free. some atheists already adhere to non-theistic religions like Theravada Buddhism or Taoism. I actual have considered some atheists get dogmatic about certain philosophies like freethought and an unquestioning love for Monty Python, yet it truly is hardly a similar element as announcing atheism is transforming into a faith. >>all of them percentage a concept that there is no god although, so >>there is a few concept equipment you opt for more beneficial than one component of have a "equipment". it truly is what "equipment" skill! you're also incorrect about assuming that all and diverse atheists assert that there is no God. you could purely no longer carry a concept in deity, and nonetheless be an atheist.

The basis of religion is faith, i.e. belief in something even in the absence of evidence.
The basis of atheism is rationality. The basis of any religion is irrationality. So the short answer is No.

Nope. It is the rejection of religion. It requires no faith so it is not a religion at all.

What is a religion? Religion is what one believes. Hence, athetism is a religion.
