Okay, so I'm 13 years old, and I'm having these terrible stomach aches. About ten months ago, last May, I was walking around and shopping with my best friend. That was the first time it happened. I had just finished eating some ice cream, when I all of a sudden felt a rush of nausea. I dashed toward a garbage can, but nothing happened. I didn't burp, gag, heave or anything. I was still feeling exactly the same way, and nothing seemed to be changing, so my friend helped me walk into a nearby children's furniture store, where the manager allowed me to sit down on a comfortable chair with a plastic shopping bag in my hand in case I needed to vomit. I began to feel dizzy, and very weak. I felt bloated, too, and I still felt like I was about to barf. I was shaking uncontrollably, my hands were sweating and I was having difficulty breathing normally, I had to take deep breaths: in through my nose, out through my mouth. This has been happening all the time. Mostly

it's just the nausea and bloating. Not with all the other stuff. It happens more than twice a day and every day. So over the past weekend, I was going to go to a school dance, and I hadn't left the house to go anywhere other than school for the past two months. Maybe once or twice to go to the grocery store with my mom or something. Anyway, I was nervous about going to the dance, and about 4 hours before it started I began feeling sick. My stomach hurt, and my head was feeling a bit out of place. When I arrived at the dance, I got such a bad stomach ache and I literally threw up in my mouth. I believe I have emetaphobia, so I got scared, which made me more worried. I ended up going home two minutes after I had arrived. My friend's mom told me a story of her roommate in college having a problem similar to mine, and she talked about how the roommate eventually began taking an anti-anxiety medication and it REALLY helped her.

I have not been to a doctor's appointment since that time, so I have not talked to my doctors yet, but I'd like to.

Any recommendations for medication or things to do while waiting for the medication?

sounds like you also might have an allergy to dairy products. The combination of both gluten allergy and dairy intolerance is very common and the side effects can produce all kinds of weird symptoms including fast onset illness, bloating, and anxiety.

You don't need any anti-anxiety medication. If nervous, then exercise more. Pills are not the answer, unless you need to start taking Lactaid. good luck

You definitely need to get a Doctor's appointment. The usually test your thyroid to make sure it isn't overactive and that is just a simple blood test. There are many anti - anxiety medications out there and the doctor will know what is best for you. Normally the medicine takes about 2 weeks to get into the system. I have had the same problems since I was about your age and I am 39. I finally got on Zoloft about 5 years ago and for me it works great.
I have a small spell every once in a great while but it doesn't last long. For now I would make an appointment and in the meantime. Practice your breathing techniques and try to find something to distract you when you feel one coming on.

Good Luck to you. I know how horrible it can me. I will say a prayer for you.

ALL medications have unpleasant side effects to one extent or another. If you cannot get by without medication, then you have no choice. But you'll be smart to investigate every other possible alternative first. You need to see a good doctor. Make sure it isn't an allergy to something. And if it is really anxiety, try meditation and exercise. People make the decision to take medicine too eagerly when they could find a healthier lifestyle that would solve their problem and restore their health without the side effects of medication.

You will need to see your family doctor. They know your personal medical history and will be better at judging which medication and dosage is right for you. (You will also need to have a prescription for the meds.)
