Its lymph which is white blood cells and bacteria draining. Its normal with piercings and as long as there is not blood in it or its not green, you're fine.

Don't use Listerine, its a very harsh cleaner and can make problems worse.

Rinse with a sea salt rinse (1/4 teaspoon per 1 cup of warm distilled water-it should taste like tears) or use Biotene. Biotene is an alcohol and saccharin free mouthwash which is a lot more gentle and safe to use. Try that for about a week and if it doesn't get any better, see your piercer and ask if there is something else we aren't aware of that's causing problems. Good luck.

Having had a piercing for a number of years. listed the following are my 2 cents. a million. do not sweat the soreness of the fairly piercing, that is later on which will be uncomfortable. Take a Motrin for the swelling and use putting ice on your tongue helps to boot. 2. in case you bypass to a marvelous piercer you'd be effective 3. relies upon on the guy, oftentimes 2-4 weeks 4. you're speech will be tousled at the same time as that is swollen, i grow to be talking often again after about 4 days. besides the undeniable fact that i'm no longer particular about the braces... i'd examine including your piercer. 5. in case you do each and everything that you're meant to you need to be effective, there is continually probability besides the undeniable fact that.... 6. It would not harm after it heals 7. there is not any thanks to cover the hollow from a Dentist. no longer to educate in case you're taking the submit out after in trouble-free terms some weeks it is going to close RIDICULOUSLY quick. So in case you do not want people to attraction to close, you would no longer prefer to get it.

Are you still using your saline rinses? This is important to get all that gunk out of there.
In the absense of pain, swelling, limited motion, and longevity of the piercing, it does not sound like an infection.
You really need to call your piercer first. Also, you can get a lot of good information from the Association of Professional Piercers:

Ive had my tongue pierced and recently I had it repierced. Its perfectly normal for white gunk to come ouuta the piercing hole. Id always use listerine after I ate,or smoked or just whener I thought about it. I used listerine for about a month after I pierced it. My piercer recommended Listerine. Believe me its totally fine.

Thta happened with me. It turned out fine. Dont eat satly food, i am thinking. and use listerine. But alcohol free. Do not smoke, or drink. If it does not heal up soon, go back to the peircer, adn get their take on it.

I say go back to the piercer and they will tell you if it's normal. or go to the doctor for a small dosage of antibiotics. i wouldn't try and take it out since it is a new piercing.
