My younger cousin Brianna only answers to her surname (Last name). If I say Brianna come here she ignores me knowing that I am talking to her, but if I say Johnson come her she comes. It's not just to me, she will rather get fussed at by everyone for not doing what she is told just to be called Johnson. For example she dumped all the toys out on the floor, my grandmother said Brianna pick up your toys so Deontaye (that's me) can vacuum the room. She ignores her until my grandmother said, "Johnson pick up your toys".

Wow the fact that a young child knows there last name is very impressive but I have to say that it sounds like it is the parents fault that she does. Someone would have had to teach her that. On the flip side I wouldnt worry about it bacause toddlers always outgrow these little quirks.

Yes, It is just a phase toddlers go through give it time. It will pass and she will start answering by her first name. I wouldn't worry about to much. Good Bye and God Bless!

LOL. My 3 year old does something similar. If he decides his name is anything other than it actually is he'll only answer to that. I've had to call him: Grandma, Pa, Daddy, Aidyn (his sister's name), Mommy, Puppy Dog (his favorite stuffed animal), and more.
