Joico K-Pak shampoo & conditioner - these are the best for dry hair.
The conditioner can be used everyday or as a hair mask for extra deep conditioning.

About every 2 weeks use a clarifying shampoo to remove any product build up and follow with a deep conditioning mask. The mask will sink in better. Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is the best one I've found.

Stay away from styling products that have alcohol.

Refrain from heated styling tools like blow dryers, straightening irons, etc. as much as possible. Invest in an extra absorbent hair towel to speed up letting your hair air dry. (ex. Aquis or The Body Shop hair towel)

Try using a little jojoba oil. Since you have long hair, you can use a little to add a little piecey-ness. Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic and washes out easily but makes a great leave in conditioner and will add a little sheen. I get the Desert Essence brand from Trader Joe's but natural food stores like Whole Foods carry it too.

I would recommend Pantene Pro-V shampoos and conditioners. I've always used Smooth and Sleek because it's for my hair type. It works great but the conditioner is a little difficult because you have to apply it a certain way. That's why I buy the 2 in 1. But since your hair is extremely dry, you might want to try Pro-V restoratives and get the "Breakage Defense" type. In fact you can get a free sample right now at pantene.com

Use some olive oil, just a little warm, you massage all you hair with it and you put a wet warm towel over your hair and you live it for an hour. After that you wash your hair and rinse it with vinegar and lots of water.
It will work wonders from the first use, it's inexpensive and very easy to use.
:)

use a lot of conditioners, and when you rinse the conditioner, dont rinse too much because that'll just rinse it all off.
