Put your hair in a loose, low ponytail and wash only the part close to the scalp that you can reach by sticking your fingers in a little...rinse the same way, leaning into the shower, facing forward and down, keeping the lonest part as dry as you can without leaving shampoo in the front/top. Brush your hair a lot every night to spread that oil off the scalp and into the length and if it's not too thick, use a comb for this to really get the oil off the scalp.
Also, consider adding conditioner to your current routine. I use natural shampoos and conditioners from my health-food store and can wash every day with those without the dryness you're talking about.

You can also try this. Wash your hair with shampoo, rinse it and comb out with a WIDE tooth comb.Or use your hands to bring the hair laying like it would when it is dry. Then all you have to do is put conditioner on the ends-dry section. Don't move it around to your scalp like you would do with shampoo. Rinse. This is something you can try now. Good Luck

i have the same problem, my hair to is long and blonde, it gets oily at the scalp fast, it is where the oil comes out so there isnt much you can do, for the rest of the hair, just use a stay in conditioner on the lower part

You should try shampoos that are good for oily hair. Your scalp may be the problem.. and yep, use Heald and shoulders. It might help.

Paul Mitchell ( daily moisture, shampoo and conditioner)
Pantene (same, use once a week.)
Dove (same)
I change off on shampoo and conditioners. If you BRUSH your hair on a regular basis it will distribute the oil throughout your hair better and the ends always need more oil/conditioner. (don't condition the top...I never do. I start about my ears and work down.)

The best thing you can do is to brush your hair repeatedly when it is oily. That will bring the oils down to the ends, which will treat it. Do this before you wash your hair.

wash the oily part as often as you need to and use conditioners on the dry part to keep it feeling healthy

Use a shampoo and conditioner which you prefer. But give it a good scrub and rinse out the conditioner properly. it is probably build up of conditioner.

You should ask a woman...first of all I need information...if it is curly...You shouldn't use too much shampoo and change frequently. It seems you might not wash it at all..
I would to rince it dailey and not do anything ...then shampoo using different products.
that works for me
