California school administrators pay schedule?

Question

Does anyone know if a school administrator is usually on a 10 month pay schedule with taking it over 12 month option, or a 12 month pay schedule. My husband is a teacher and I know they are on 10 month pay schedules with an option to spread it over 12 months, but he just got hired as a VP for a different district and forgot to ask. I'm wondering because he'll be starting March 1st, and it makes a difference in if he gets paid for this summer since he's starting in the middle of the year. We live in California. Thank you.
