Good idea?? It's the damn law in this country ! ;)

It depends on the date really. If you know she likes pubs, you're doing ok. Let's face it, where else can you go on a first date? The cinema is too dark and you can't chat, your parents home is probably not going to be much fun. Bowling sucks big time - so what's the alternative?

Restaraunts are too formal or stuffy if you don't know each other very well, and can be expensive. Besides, if you go out to eat, there won't be any room for beer so that's a waste of time.

Make sure you either arrange a taxi or walk her home though.

Well, that would all depend on your ability and your dates to handle alchohol. Firstly, if you yourself are a blithering idiot when drinking, it's not so attractive. A few drinks with a fair tolerance can help ease any possible tension if present and get the ice broken. Then again, it also all depends on what you and they are looking for when dating and if it's expressed honestly or not, and of coarse that's no guarantee. We are all looking for different things and different personalitys at different times, maybe a blithering idiot is appealing if your date is looking for quick and easy date or a wild type. I'd say most important, if you care about the impression you make, either don't drink, or if you do, take the precaution of knowing and obeying the limit of tolerance you posess and observe it. Make it social rather the cross over into intoxication, afterall, we all know when we begin to feel that buzz coming on, what's most important at the time, taking it to the limit or the person you're supposed to be attentive to? Also are you at a safety risk if you easily disreguard your better judgement when drinking....hmmmm!

Well, it depends. Most people are on their best behavior on first dates, and so, are not likely to over-do it on drinks; but just in case, I may suggest coffee instead, b/c you never know how the other person will be. I hope this helps.

I think a short date is the best bet...if you want to do drinks sure, or coffee, dessert...whatever just keep it short, this way if you can't stand 'em you don't have long to wait to ditch them!! Just don't have too many drinks, "beer goggles" can make anyone more appealing!

Why stop there? Show off all your vices on the first date. Take her to a strip joint, holler obscenities, smoke, get drunk and then take her to a casino or the track. Finish off with some good weed. If she's any kind of trailer trash, you're in, bud.

Yes, I think it's nice if you go to a nice classy bar where you can sit down at a table or on a couch and talk. It's a great way to get to know each other.

Thats just saying, I want to get in your pants. No I don't think that is a good first date, unless both of you really want to get drunk.
