Part of the Bank of America deal to get a credit card is that the illegal immigrant must have a checking account for at least 3 months and must have paid on time.
How can you get a checking account in America without a Social Security number??
Answer: You Can't
Something smells in Bank of America and I am cancelling my dealings with them.

Credit cards, BAD!!! in general. I have one through the Air Force. That's enough for me. I'm sure that if i had your 6,000 dollar limit i would be in more debt. but, you do what you want with you credit and money. As for bank of america, i have been with them for 4 years. That was back in Aug of 02 when i first entered Basic for the AF. I have never had a problem with them. They offer every thing there is to offer. But, what do you need another credit card from them for if you already got one? ask them to expand your limit on that one if they are gonna send you another one. I might be 22. but, i have learned from my older brother what credit cards can do to you. ill just keep my one that i can use only on military installations. Matter of fact i think I'll cut it up right now.

It is very understandable that it many of us feel that the move by Bank of America is uncalled for, but legally, it isn't required by any bank to ask for a social security number. The social security infrastructure is way over used for what it's original proposal was designed for anyway. The purpose of asking for the social security number is to verify an individual's identity. This can be done through the following documents instead of a social security number:
Form I-551 (includes machine-readable immigrant visa with your unexpired foreign passport);
I-94 with your unexpired foreign passport; or
Work permit card from DHS (I-766 or I-688B).
These documents are the same requirements that an individual would need anyways if they were to apply for a social security number.

Bank of America Corp. has begun offering credit cards to customers without Social Security numbers, typically illegal immigrants.
In the latest sign of the U.S. banking industry's aggressive pursuit of the Hispanic market, Bank of America Corp. has quietly begun offering credit cards to customers without Social Security numbers -- typically illegal immigrants.

You guys are just talking out of your ***'s. You have absolutely NO idea what really is going on at ANY bank of america branch. Do any of you work there? Can you REALLY say without a doubt that what your proclaiming is 100% true? NO. So quit talking about issues you know nothing about. Pure Ignorance.
I work at BofA and we don't just "give out" credit cards... We verify all information before we give out credit cards... first of all, we have to enter in ALL the required information on the computer, which includes a VALID SSN and VALID US picture ID...second of all, we require TWO forms of ID... so they would need their mexico consular (or whatever country they came from) ID... bottom line: we go above and beyond before we "give out" credit cards...
Again; if you don't have any idea what you're talking about, keep your mouths shut.

It is illegal to help illegal aliens. Hopefully, our government will start enforcing laws soon.
82% of Americans want illegal aliens deported.
